Is dual awareness a problem?

Last night I did a conscious astral projection, and as I did the last time I projected I flew through space very quickly. I say quickly because stars and star clusters were whizzing by me very rapidly.

I tried to travel to where I live in-between physical incarnations, but had no success.  The last time I flew through space I tried to reach my higher self, but no success.

One thing I've noticed is that even though I'm flying through space, I'm still conscious of my physical body. Partly because I have it mind to not move it in any way (I'm afraid that movement might end my experience), and partly because I want to be able to look out for it.

IS IT OKAY TO MAINTAIN AN AWARENESS OF ONE'S PHYSICAL BODY WHILE PROJECTING? WILL MAINTAINING SUCH AN AWARENESS LIMIT ONE'S EXPERIENCE?

Personally I prefer to forget about my physical body completely. The few OBEs I've had I haven't thought about my physical body at all, probably because, with all I've read, I'm generally concerned that thinking about it would most likely bring me back to it. Also, I like to be as focused as possible when away from my body so I can be as fully immersed and aware during the experience, and recall as much of it as possible. "Looking out for" my body isn't something I worry about. It sounds like a fear to me, and fears can always add some resistance to OBEs, if not prevent them completely.

Maybe find a way to trust that your body will be fine? After all (if you follow this line of thinking), you leave your body all the time when you sleep - even if you don't remember doing so - and nothing ever happens to your body. You always wake up none-the-wiser :).

There can't be that much to worry about can there?

Having said that, if you can deal with dual-consciousness during your OBEs without being sucked back into your body, and it causes no problems for you that you can notice then hey, don't worry about it.  :o

Thank you for the reminder about us leaving our bodies during dreams. I sort of forgot about that. I believe that I might have more control of my experiences if I don't try to be in two places at the same time.

Glad to be of service my Astral friend. :)

I agree with you. I would think you would more likely have more control if not focusing on two different planes of existence at once lol. Sorry, that sounds funny... I'm such a child.

See ya around!
