I will keep trying. Thanks everyone for your advice. I will let you know if I have any success.

Positive vibrations, at least to me, feel like a cool heat in the air. It is electric. You feel love and peace. And it is thick enough to cut with a knife.

sigh. still no success. Should I keep my mind active withouth any thoughts or should I lower the activity of my mind. The lowered mind activity actually makes me fall asleep. In my last 2 tries I heard this..hmm how to describe it..this very light sound as when the laptops ventilator runs as slow as possible but I only hear it in one of my ears.

When I was first starting, I heard different kinds of strange sounds just in one ear right before I projected.  You must be close!

Lowered mind activity (relaxed mind) is good. -Just not so relaxed that you fall asleep.  Do you ever just take a little break from busy life by 'zoning out'  - you stare into space and let your eyes blur - your mind completely relaxes - your jaw goes slack - someone comes over to you and waves their hand in front of your face and asks if there's anybody home?  That feeling of your mind completely relaxing is what you're going for.  Sleepiness is generally not a good thing, but having said that, you can use it as a tool to achieve the mind awake, BODY ASLEEP state quicker.  Just let yourself come close to sleep (but not too close!) then wake yourself up again by refocusing a little.  Then do that again...and your body will relax and 'fall asleep' quicker. It's useful if you want to project before bed (as opposed to waking from sleep) and your body isn't relaxed yet. You don't have to wait around forever in order to achieve the correct state. - 10 or 15 min. should do it.   Good luck.  You're doing well!  :)

I day dream rarely now. When I was younger or at school I would space out more often. When I actually did day dream yeasterday the light flickered when I blinked and I heard the radio making the buzzing sound. Might just be my imagination tho.

I try at night. However nothing really actually happens in an hour or I lower my mind activity and fall asleep. :/

If it fits into your schedule well, try taking a 1 to 1 and 1/2 hr. nap after dinner (no AP during this time) and then attempt projection at bed time which should be within 3 1/2 hrs. of your nap. Get up early and stay active during the day up until your nap.  For more info. on this technique, go to the home page and look under the heading - Astral Consciousness.  Then look for the Bedeekin method.  It works crazy well for some people, including me.  If it's going to work for you, you'll know it within a few minutes of you setting up your meditation state.  The blackness behind your eye lids will become dynamic.  Sort of vortex -like.  Almost like a black hole is sucking you into it.  Then just stay the course and wait.  You might end up in the NP, or at a certain point you will realize that you have lost all awareness of your physical body and you will instinctively know it's time to do an exit technique.

I like this method because I think it can really help a beginner who just isn't getting anywhere.  I will tell you that the signposts can get very dramatic with this one, and you have to remain calm and relaxed no matter what you experience or else you'll ruin it for yourself.  No fear or excitement!

Also, I noticed you said that it's hard for you to get songs out of your head.  I almost always project with a song in my head.  It would be very counter productive for me to try to get the song out.  Just review what LionHeart said earlier on this thread about letting the thoughts (song!) go right through you. That's the key to it all!  :)

See if you can change the words into a mantra, by repeating this you'll be passively active and hopefully not fall asleep.
Use sounds rather than words, the more meaningless the better.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Very true!  When I project with a song in my head it's either just the tune with no words, or if words are present I'm not thinking about them at all.  Also I usually just repeat the chorus of the song over and over in my mind. (or a part of it that sticks in my mind the best) Very repetitive and great for trance.  If I went into verses that were very involved, I'd run the risk of loosing that passively active feel.  Projecting with a song in your head works best if the song is truly 'stuck' in your head.  It plays itself. You don't have to do anything accept put the chorus on replay. lol.

I think everyone has one of these "stuck" in your head musical triggers.

My own nemesis is this one, lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WEtxJ4-sh4&list=RD8WEtxJ4-sh4
I was never really a fan of TLC. But heard it back in the 90's and whenever I do, I can't get it out of my head for days. I didn't listen to the above link this time, lol!  :-D

Careful clicking on the link though. I warned you, lol!  :-) :-) :-)

I heard it recently in the movie "The Millers" and when I did I just laughed. It was a funny part of the movie as well. But for the next 2 days after I was stuck with it. I really do enjoy the song though!  :-)

Ooooh Yeah!!   That one is dangerous!!   I remember back when it was popular, I'd have to change the station immediately when it came on or risk insanity! Lol.
