I haven't been active on this forum in a while but i have still been practicing daily however im hitting a few road blocks and things that i would like peoples opinions on. Here they are:

1> When i have been actively meditating and trying to achieve mind awake body asleep, i lose all sense of my body, like my body forgets to feel my external surroundings and i can feel the wait of my body (if that makes sense, sort of like a semi stiffness) - then i fall asleep - i have tried keeping my forearm raised but i seem to still fall asleep despite it hitting the bed when i doze off, i fall asleep every single time.

2> Sometimes just before i fall asleep my mind goes from a sort of black focus, to a gleaming clarity in a snap change, like everything behind my eyes gets brighter and my mind feels refreshed like ive just woken up, its like this for about 10 seconds then i go back to the black heavy focus or fall asleep.

3> Sometimes i feel a mild tingling all over my body, its like a faint energy actively moving underneith my skin, but not as fierce as any vibrations i have heard described on the internet.

I just want peoples opinions on these experiances and any advice on how to get past this stage/not fall asleep during practice.

Thanks In Advance

That would be Focus 10. I think you're falling asleep because your mind is still trained to think that it is your body, so it tries to go to sleep at the same time your body goes to sleep. Just keep practicing and you'll eventually be able to stay awake when you want to.

I think the mental clarity is because you have removed your body from the equation, so your mind is less clouded by stimuli from your body.
