I just had my first astral experience. Im 15, and have always had interests in lucid dreaming, about a week ago I started recording dreams into a dream journal since i had been reading about astral projection.

Basicly what happened was, i took a nap in the day, I fell into sleep paralysis, then began lucid sleep paralysis, Then I imagined myself coming out of my body and laying down next to myself on my bed, the more i thought about it i began to get this tingly feeling and eventually my body disappeared and i believe i was in what people call the astral plane. When transitioning to this plane it felt basically like the earth turned upside down (gravity reversed itself).

the scary part happened at this point, I heard talking and whispering in every direction, it overwhelmed me especially since i had never experienced being out of the body.

being in the astral plane felt great, i felt free for the first time but i couldnt enjoy it because i was scared. I was laying in bed under my covers while in the astral plane the whole time, so I didnt see who was talking/whispering. It scared me so i fell back into my body then woke up shaking.

As I fell back into my body, i got the feeling that my spirit guide/helper did something to me, and ever since I am no longer depressed (ive been through alot the past few years), and I feel courage and wisdom, and I feel like a much nicer/understanding person. Also my sense of balance improved, kinda weird.

Believing in astral projection is one thing, but to actually experience it. Im amazed.

your advice/tips/comments would be appreciated, thanks for reading my experience.

Congratulations :) I had my first and only OBE about 4 months ago, since then i've only had vibrations a few times but never left.
I agree, it was amazing.

I felt weightless, like the gravity and the mass of my body disappeared. I read from one experienced AP'er (I think it was on astralvoyage.com, great site btw) that she also hears voices sometimes while projecting. Fear only set limits. And if you believe something bad is going to happen. It's higher change that it will happen.

First and only (classic) OBE so far: 12th August 2009

Hi New Projector

That may have been a full or a partial OBE. The sleep paralysis and vibrations are usually good indicators that a projection is possible. Just curious about what you saw on the astral plane. You mentioned hearing voices and noises but did not describe any visuals.?

I dont remember seeing anything other then comming out of my body, although i feel like there was someone there trying to help me make it through. everything was pitch black. I believe what happened was i was traveling to the astral plane, but i didnt make it all the way since the voices scared me back to the physical world. My evidence for this is that the vibrations or tingly feeling kept getting stronger and stronger, then i noticed the voices which scared me away. What i need to next time is to try and speed up the process at which my vibrations get stronger and stronger and not be afraid. As my friend who has a book on astral projection said the voices I heard were lost souls stuck between planes. which makes sense, since i was in a state of being between planes.
also read something that shamans, who experience this carry lost souls to the astral plane..

Wow ive been waiting for an adventure my whole life, finally i think Ive found it (well it found me).. however being in this state is not something im ready for, and need to meditate/think about it for awhile longer.

after my experience I barely notice something different about myself, its like a connection to some kind of power or energy.

im hoping this feeling will become stronger the more i do this.

Also now whenever i go to sleep i have 2 options, 1. just dream and 2. slip into sleep paralysis state

its like there was a invisible door there the whole time but i never saw it.

weird thing is, the sleep paralysis door, the one that leads to astral projection keeps calling me back and its hard to resist. I dont know what to do, whether i should go for it or not.

New Projector, you wrote

Right, this lack of vision happens to many projectors, both new and experienced. Next time it happens to you try speaking the "Affirmation "Clarity Now" in a strong clear voice. This affirmation helps bring astral vision to many people.
