Hey everyone! I need a little help if you got a minute. I've been trying to consciously project for a long time...and i feel like i'm reaching my goal...however i had something happen to me last night that halted my experience dead in its tracks.

I lied down and decided to try something new, i thought instead of focusing on projection, focus on my body falling asleep. I helped myself reliving spontaneous projections ive had in the past as well as dreams i interpreted as unconscious projections. Well after about 10 minutes i could feel my body getting light, you know....the common symptoms of falling asleep. At about 15 minutes i felt numb and light...so i continued. At 20 or plus minutes i was feeling INTENSE OBE symptoms....more intense than ive EVER felt.

It started with the sound of someone walking around in my room followed by a really strong sound of wind...i've experienced this multiple times but never as defined as this. My lower half of my body felt like a feather but my torso and head felt like boulders. Then the pain and nausea set in...i got an extreme feeling of vertigo, like i felt so nausea's that i thought i was going to throw up. My head was pounding and it felt almost as if someone was jabbing their thumb directly into the center of my forehead. It was a very intense pressure.

Try as i might...this stopped me in my tracks. The pain and nausea was too intense so i had to withdraw and shake it off. Anyone have any input? Thanks.

try mindfullness meditation. It keeps you calm snd focused.

Boom

Never heard of this happening before. I seem capable of spinning around hanging upside down and allsorts (whilst in an OBE type state) and i dont feel dizzy or anything.

I guess you can only keep trying and see if it happens again.

I have had vertigo pretty severe a number of times. I have also experienced pain during some attempts. But, I am stubborn, so I stayed the course and shifted.

I found that it was my physical body creating some kind of extreme test to see if I was still bodily focused. Once I ignored the sensations and created a strong intent on another action, they went away and I could shift with ease.

It's kind of like, you are lying on your side trying to go to sleep, but can't get to sleep. Your body keeps giving you little pangs here and there just to check if you are awake or not. When you stop reacting to these itches, pangs, twitches and annoyances, it finally knows you are asleep and can begin the preparation for sleep. This is when the vibrations, sounds, vertigo etc. start to kick in and get pretty intense.

I could have just answered your question why this is happening by repeating your statement  "I've been trying to consciously project for a long time...and i feel like i'm reaching my goal", but that doesn't really tell you anything, besides the fact that you wish to AP and now you are seeing what it entails.

This link will describe on of my AP shifts. It was pretty extreme as well.

I've had vertigo, heaviness (as if a brick were on my chest) and nausea once when I tried 'spinning'- never again- but never pain.  I would suggest doing more 'relaxing muscles' discipline before the trance induction, since usually muscle tension is what causes difficult partial separations for me.  Unless you had a full stomach and body sensations became amplified.
Why?

Never had pain as such but quite recently a strange feeling of pressure in/on my forehead. Like when you watch someone else get hit in the eye and almost feel it yourself. Usually I just try and focus on another limb to relax then come back to the forehead.
