Is this an astral projection or what?

Ok here is my experience.

A few years ago I was a little intrigued by these so called astral projections. I'm usually very skeptic with these kind of things but I decided to give it a try. I read different techniques and experiences for weeks and tried many times to get an astral projection with no luck until I gave up.

But this morning I had an experiences that I never had before. I usually woke up around 5:30 - 6:00 AM and then continue sleeping until 8:00AM. When I do this, usually is very difficult for me to wake up and I feel very tired.

This morning I woke up very early and then went asleep again. Then the alarm woke me up around 7AM, I got up, turn off the A/C (it was freezing) and went to bed again. Just when I was almost asleep again, I'm not sure why but it came to me the idea of trying an astral projection technique I had read before, it was kind of in my subconscious. I noticed when I was almost asleep, and literally try to get up from the bed. I suddenly felt that my body was really heavy, much more than usual. I kept trying to get up, and felt I could move my arms and legs but not my torso. Then I try to visualize a rope and start pulling myself of the bed with that rope. Suddenly I felt I was floating.

The strange thing is that I never felt any vibrations or anything like that.  The other strange thing is that all I can see is pitch black. But I was able to move in any direction I wanted and I could feel the movement even though I could not see anything. Also, I can hear and feel myself snoring.

I tried opening my eyes to try to see something, and when I did, I saw the roof. I'm now awake but very tired, I continue doing this several times and always get the same result. In one of that tries I kind of said to myself I want to be in space and start moving in what I though was the "Up" direction, and suddenly I am floating in space seeing many small stars. I can rotate and move and the feeling was awesome.

Well that is my experience. Not sure if it was actually an astral projection or a lucid dream or just my mind playing tricks on my. I plan to try it again tomorrow and see what happen. Any opinions are welcomed.

This morning I tried it again using the same technique of waking up, then going to sleep again. I realized when I was almost asleep because I can feel the muscle in my face and jaw suddenly relax.

Right before the moment I was almost asleep, and when I was just about to try to get up from the bed, I felt a very loud vibration in my ears kind of like a bzzzzzz, almost like electricity. At the same time this happen, I saw like a very fast blinking light, maybe something similar to the lights used on the dance clubs. This only lasted for around one second but it was very intense.

Then I tried to get up from the bed, and again I felt paralyzed and very heavy. I felt I could move my arms but not my torso. I kind of saw my arms moving up and for some reason I though those where my real arms so it wasn't working.  I woke up and realized that my arms where under the blanket, and of course my eyes where closed so it wasn't possible I was seeing my real arms.

I got over excited and wasn't able to go to sleep anymore. I'll try it again tomorrow...

good job your on your way. if you cant see next time say clarity now, and or try to get away from your body. this will help with the heavy feeling and the parlized effect. if you get the sp effect just have to will yourself to move but dont force it. think of it as peeling two stickers apart if you do it to fast they tear and break.. two slow and it will take to long to get them apart and you will give up.. so find out how to do it just right haha. not as hard as it sounds once you get used to all of this.. so you are very close well you got it acctly you just never left or went anywere.. so member clarity now i always say please that seems to help.. and get away from your body once you are out.. then you should see the room you in and leave throught any means you want to. ex: the windo, door. or just think yourself some were..

When i get out like how you did i have to race to the door, or my body tries suck me back into a dream.. and sometimes when i am out it is very hard for me to move when i am allt he way out.. that is cuz i am to close to my body as well and i have to really try to get out of room.. keep up good work and you get the hang of it..
is it bad when your dreams are better than real life!

I'm back...

Well, after that first experience I had a few month ago, I've been very interested in learning about these phenomenons. I've been reading Thomas Cambell's "My big Toe" book trilogy. I'm currently through the third book now and so far I have found everything super interesting.

Now that I'm currently on vacations and not doing much I've been trying to repeat the experience I had.

Last night I was able to do it and here goes the experience:

At first I was in the middle of a dream, then I started gaining some awareness and realized my body was asleep. I was able to go out by trying to roll from bed. I suddenly feel floating and do not feel my body anymore. Then I tried to just do nothing and be aware of what is going on. All I can see is like a strange light pattern.

Then I decided to see what my non physical body looked like, I look at my hand and I can see my hand just like my physical hand but it was kind of it I had an HD vision, everything looked much more clearer somehow.  I then noted that wherever I focus my vision (looking at my body) I can see like if I was constructed of a strange "watery" blue light. The consistency was kind of like water which move slowly in a wave pattern and irradiate a blue light.

After this, I decided to float and fly around and immediately I see myself floating in my room and flying through the house and exiting the front door, then I'm flying above of my house. I tried to go to the moon and I see myself getting closer and closer but for some reason I ended very far away again. I tried this several times and always had the same result until I decided to let it go.

The last thing I decided to do was to explore my creative abilities with music and I'll tell you why.

Since many years ago, I have noticed that when I'm thinking of a song, it is in my mind in a way similar to as if I was singing it, but only in my head. On several occasions, and as far as I can remember it happened when I was almost asleep, I'm thinking of a song and I was able to literary hear the song inside my head for a few seconds. And when I say hearing it, it means that I can clearly hear the bass, guitar, drums, the singer voice just as clear as if I had a cd player connected directly to my brain. This was always strange to me because it always happened spontaneously and I didn't had control of it.

Going back to the experience now, I started creating a song in my own consciousness, and I didn't even needed to think of it, it just happened, and it was not only lyrics, but also music. I really can't remember much of the song but what I know is that it was like a very slow ska, almost reggae.  This was the most amazing experience, to realize what one is capable of creating.  When you wake up you realize how constrain we are in our bodies.

One thing I learned with this experience is that you don't even need to think in the way we usually do (language based), everything kind of comes out from the source spontaneously. Another thing I learned is that the intent you have is very important, I felt that everything I experienced was based on my intuitive intents. I also realized that the focus of this intent is very important and if you don't focus, the things that you are perceiving could just blur away and get you confused.

Sorry for the long text, but I needed to share this experience. I would also like to keep tracking my experiences here while they happen so that I can come back and read in case I forget things.

It has been a while, today I finally manage to have another experience. This time it was kind of different.

I was watching tv in my bed after eating a lot of food and suddenly felt very sleepy. I decided to get a nap and somehow I felt when my body was almost to fall asleep. Immediately I try to get up from bed when I felt it was the moment.

Now my consciousness is somewhere else but then I felt like two people come into my room. I now feel I have like a double awareness, where I can be aware of my physical body and surroundings, and can snap to a different awareness by will. I feel that the two people entering my room are my aunt and my sister. I just try to ignore them cause I don't want to wake up. I guessed they'll eventually leave.

I can feel them watching me sleep and laughing at me.  Then I feel they are grabbing my feet for a while, one of them sit in my bed and grab my hand. Then I feel someone biting my leg. At this point I'm starting to have doubts of what was really going on because that seems kind of odd.

Suddenly I can feel that whatever is in my room with me is not my aunt and sister but something else. I'm starting to freak out because I tried to wake up but I couldn't. Then whatever was in my room felt like if it was going to step on me.  I don't want to freak out and I start thinking of flying, and its like I start getting away but something pull me back where this thing was. Then I decided that was enough and woke up abruptly like when you are having a nightmare.

It was a little scary but interesting. One thing I know I need to change is to stop having a material/space mind set while I'm experiencing something that is not material/space constructed. All I always want to do is to "fly"...

It sounds like these entities are trying to get your attention anyway they can. Try talking to them and find out why. They either answer or they don't. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain! Check out this video, the part you want to watch starts at the 1:00:00 and goes until 1:07:00. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRar8IOwic8&feature=BFa&list=PLEB923BB17E5849A3But the entire video is excellent.
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Thanks for the advise. I'll try it next time. At least now I'll know I should not confuse entities with actual people in my room. I'll take some time later to watch the whole video.
