hi guys, it's been a long time sin ce i last posted on here.

just had a similar experience to my first time, ie. i suddenly became aware of a series of 'whooshing' noises. at first they were pretty scary (had the sensation of what i imagine it would be like to have a ghost whizzing past) but then i remembered what they were! so i let them continue and after a few seconds i tried to pull myself out of my body, except that i soon felt that i couldnt breath, so i paniced a little and wished myself back to normal again, then the experience ended just like that. i'm frustrated that i didn't take full advantage of the oppurtunity and i didnt think to open my astral eyes (i was too excited i guess). however, despite this brief and seemingly uninspiring event, i consider it to be one of the most enlightening experiences of my life!

how did i manage to get to that state? i really wanna do it again!

cheers, nik

perhaps i should add also, as well as the first experience (when i actually opened my astral eyes and could see my ghostly hands infront of my face - which was cool) i didnt not purposely set out to project, it was 'accidental'. once more i had come home from uni for a sleep as i was so tired (i was falling asleep in my lectures) but i couldnt seem to fall asleep properly for about an hour then it happened.

It seems like you experienced a Hypnagogic Hallucination as you were falling asleep (assuming that you were trying to fall asleep like you were in your first experience).

As you were laying down, your body was falling asleep while you remained mentally awake, which allows one to experience Hypnagogic Imagery/Hallucinations.

is that linked closely to an OBE? those whooshing noises were deffinately very intense and sound like they were a lot like what others experience before an OBE occurs.

cheers for your insight, nikk

Yes, the 'whooshing' sound is but one of the many sounds one might hear before they project.
