strange, shared experience

heya everyone!

well something strange happened last night and I was just wondering if anyone here has had something like this happen to them or could maybe shed some light on what happened.
I had just spent a couple of hours with my girlfriend at my house, it was getting late and we knew she would be getting picked up soon. We lay down together for about ten minutes, not speaking but just holding eachother.
I guess I was almost asleep when suddenly it felt like I was moving, like against my will. It wasnt like being dragged by something but more sort of flying without being able to control it.
When this feeling woke me up I was just about to open my eyes when suddenly I realised I could see just fine without doing so. But instead of seeing around my room or anything I could see perfectly clearly that I was on the beach just down the road from me, my vision was strange like I could see all around me at once but yet I was able to focus on just one direction and it felt normal. I had no body so I wasnt walking, I was just like a little invisible ball, soaring pretty fast and very uncontrolabley over the shoreline. Everything felt so clear, I noticed every detail in the sand and the foamy water splashing up around where my feet should be, I could hear the waves and practically smell the salt too.
At the same time I was very aware of my body, like I knew I was lying on my bed and I could stil feel my girlfriend's arms around me but at the same time everything just felt so so clear in my mind that I was on this beach, literally flying along.
It all only lasted about a minute, slowly this powerful feeling of moving started to subside and I had to force myself to see the beach whereas just moments before it all came so naturally without me even thinking about it.
Without even meaning to, I whispered "wow..." and my girlfriend asked me what was happening. I began to explain to her that i was having the most vivid images in my head, like I've never felt before. She told me she thought she was asleep and had quite a realistic dream. Apart from that, she didnt seem too shocked or interested in what had happened, until I explained to her where I was in this 'vision'. She looked at me in disbelief and told me this was exactly what she just experienced. She could recall the same moving or flying feeling all the way through, she felt like she had no body but instead she was gliding over the sand and the shoreline. To try to look more into this, we started to compare details we both saw. Both these visions were practically identical, the weather, features on the beach, sounds, the brightness of the sun, all the little details on the sand and the different smells - all identical. The only difference was that for me, I recall the sea being on my left handside, and I'm quite sure I was travelling towards the cliffs (not totally sure tho) at one end of the beach whereas she remembers the sea being on the right and she was travelling towards the town at the other end of the beach. I'm not sure if this means we were flying away from eachother, or towards eachother.
Well we both thought what had happened was pretty strange, she seemed it more scary whereas I thought... 'wow, that was really cool!'
I have always been very into astral projection and remote veiwing and such, but after literally a whole year of different excercises and attempting everything I could find with basically no results I have just found less and less time to practice very much. But when this happened I got a bit excited, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with any of these topics and I just wanted to find out what you all thought about it and stuff.

I'm sorry I guess this post really is very very long, for something that probably has little signifigance :S... but i just wanted to get in every last detail I could remember, to see if anyone can tell me about what happened. sorry if anything ive said seems insignificant to the story or anything, i just want to make sure everything is there.

any replies at all on anyone's veiws of what happened to us would be very, very welcome . thanx a lot guys

Cool, thanx for the reply, thats what I've always thought since I first met her ! We seem to share the same emotions when were not even around eachother, we've just always felt this unexplainable connection.
I thought it was pretty exciting and interesting, i guess it was my first really really lucid experience and after all the months I've tried for one with no success, it only happened when I was with her, and this time without even trying. And she shared the whole thing with me too which makes it even more interesting.
Anyways, it stil was quite unexplainable for us so does anyone here have any idea how or why this happened? Just our subconscience minds somehow communicating or something?
Also, if this has happened to any of you guys i'd love to hear about it.

lol im sure this must seem quite a small achievement for me to all of you who are more experienced in astral projection and these areas. dam you's are all lucky!
