Tried to travel 200,000 years back in time...

I had a heck of a time trying to sleep. Maybe it was because I was depressed, maybe because of the rough day I had earlier. Regardless, I finally dozed off at about 0230 or so.

I don't know why, but I decided to project. Like many times before, I started off at my parents' house, instead of my own apartment. I flew up, onto the wall in the computer room and clung to it for several seconds. I then flew back-first out the sliding glass door and outside.

I tried to fly, but this force kept me from flying. I perceived it as a black, ovoid, globular type creature that clung to my left leg. It held me down for quite awhile, but I fought it off and was able to float over to the nearby tree.

I hovered for a bit in front of the tree and thought to myself the command "go back in time" twice. I then perceived a non-verbal "command prompt" asking me for how far back I wanted to go, and I said thought "200,000 years." (why I picked this I have no idea). Then my visual field went blank and the experience was over.

Shouldn't real actual lucid time travel that far into the past require vast amounts of energy and preparation from a projector?

It's not like taking a walk in your back garden. Bridging 200 000 years should take slightly more energy than a simple thought pattern.

Or am I completely wrong? I just think that, even in the astral, you cannot get something for nothing.

Am I stuck in an earth-scientific energy conservation mindset?

It is said that all time is not linear, but parallel. Its is also said that since the concept of time is a device made by man, it does not compute when correlated to over there in the astral. However, since we are human beings and some of us are human souls, and apparently when we cross over we take what we know here to over there, I would not be surprised if sentient beings over there DO know what out concept of time relates to. Also, the fact that you were trying to make a jump from your here-now to the 200,000 years away, I think a few things (maybe more) might have happened. Your ego was taking on too much of a task, sort of like a computer overloaded ie. your ego could not "interpret" the shift from your coordinates in space-time and kicked you out of the astral back into reality. Also another thing that may have happened, even though you knew what you wanted to do, its possible that you did not have any INTENT behind it. Alot of astral work has to have some sort of intent behind it for it to manifest. You also have to remember, the earth is ever changing, the place you were in the physical might have been a mountain or ocean 200,000 years ago. Historical data tells us that the world was largely, even more so than now, inundated with water a long time ago. Next time, try only going back 100-1000 years. The mind might have more of a concept as to what it should or would look like back then so as not to cause such a shock to the rational mind.

I was eager to know what you would report. You can try using the astral tv, it is my favourite method now because it takes no great conscious effort. All I do is ask, and if I have a good connection, the images come with a voice explaining the things that I'm seeing, it's awesome.

Projecting back to a specific event in time (whether personal or historical) is much more likely to result in success than going back to a general time period.
Most astral time travel adventures that I have read about involved an OBE time traveller going back to an important moment in their own lifetime -- a point in time that held a special meaning for them.

Do not know whether such time travel is to an alternate universe or not.

Occasionally people also report OBE time travelling into the furture.
