so last night i had an interesting dream in which my friends and i went to someones house. at that house a number of people appeared friendly, but later on kidnapped my friends and killed them. it was pretty wacky and a lot of it didn't make all that much sense (except for when i was dreaming it), but basically, when searching to either find my kidnapped friends or avenge them, i was in some grocery store. i became aware that i was dreaming, but decided to keep on with my mission. however, i decided to try and speak to whomever i came into contact whilst interpreting to the best of my ability whether they were simply projections of my mind, or if they had their own objective existence. i've been reading Robert Monroe's Ultimate Journey, and i remember him talking about a reoccurring dream that he used to have and later realized that the entities that make up his higher-self had made him dream that dream. anyways, in MY dream i came into contact with some person in the store and wanted to see what they were, so i flew up to the top of the ceiling to see if they could do the same, and they did. i remember knowing his first name somehow, and asked who or what he was. he replied that he was somewhat of a computer program. he also mentioned that he was cold, and then our conversation ended the environment of my dream changed. so i figured perhaps he was just some "program" in my dream put there to be apart of my dream environment.

when my environment changed (keep in mind i'm still lucid), i arrived at an area above an extremely high cliff that overlooked a large and beautiful valley. i looked around and there were a bunch of large, stone sculptures of birds that closely resembled owls but were still somewhat different in appearance. my assumption was that they may have been actual size of the birds they resembled. as i looked around at each sculpture, a sudden flash picture of an actual animal resembled by the statues appeared before my eyes which only lasted a second or two. after seeing this, i felt like i was put into auto-pilot. i turned toward the cliff and started running until i launched off the edge and began flying. i've flown many many times before in dreams & while astral projecting, but something about this experience made it feel much more amazing. i even remember hearing epic music as if i was in a movie lol. anywho, as i woke up out of my dream while flying over the valley.

When I am flying high in the sky and over hills and valleys in my OBEs and LDs the experience does not last very long and I land back in my body.

When I am flying inside a building it seems to have no effect at all on duration. It can last a good long while.
Beware the fake "seeker" who finds Truth to be abusive.

Actually, I experience the exact same thing. Perhaps it's because when I am in a much more open environment, I tend to "free" myself and soar as fast as I can. There was one exception, however, when I had an OBE and decided to walk into my friends TV. I found myself falling and then began flying downwards past a megalithic WB (Warner Brothers sign) and then continued down over what appeared to be a half-animated, half-realistic environment. Characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas flew past me, and as I continued flying, I touched down near lots of other people including Pocahontas. I remember she was getting a lot of attention, almost like a celebrity, so I mentioned that the attention must a bit of an annoyance ha. Anywho, this was one of the few experiences I've had where I was able to fly openly without any trouble of waking. Totally forgot about it. Good thing I wrote it down in my iphone afterwards lol.
