need help

Is it possible to astral project without first seeing hypnogogic images?
I'm asking because I can't SEE anything while falling asleep, but I usually
hear voices.. And I indeed hear them, and usually I wake myself totally.. 
btw, I can hear them only when trying to astral project..
Anyone?

Voices or imagery, it all stems from the same place. So utilising voices to help project should be possible. I guess experimentation is in order, focus on the voices to the exclusion of all else - perhaps incorporate some tactile visualisations too (these are much easier to create than visual or even aural visualisations) and see what happens.

actually, the first time i consciously projected was through hearing stuff...

it was like a radio show going on in the background,

it was very interesting to me.. i had never experienced this before.. so i listened.

as i cconcentrated, images began to form before my eyes.

before i knew it, i was part of a lucid vision.
