It's a very nice dream, shivanova! I'm sure you enjoyed it much. I got tingles while reading it. [:)]

Your mind is much more creative than you think. While you are dreaming or out of body it can create magnificent fictional worlds that you could never imagine if being awake.

Sometimes dreams can even be more beautiful than screenshots from Myst 3 (the most beautiful game I've ever seen).

Was your dream lucid?
I'm planning on living forever...
So far so good!

This is what I was thinking, but I wish I had ideas this good when I am awake.

No, it never occurs to me to look at my hands or question anything.

that sounds awesome. i believe its your mind being more creative then you knew [^] your mind is really, really creative while dreaming, much more than in a waking state. when i was a child, like 5 or 6 I used to have epic, reacuring dreams usually about deserts and pyramids of egypt. one interesting characteristic was that the sky would always have a huge jupiter in it, it covered about 80% of the sky!! it seemed like our moon turned into jupiter but then earth would be the moon so it was like we lived on a moon around jupiter. it was wierd and extremely vivid, although not quite lucid. i remember some of my dreams from that time period of 4-7 better than i remember my childhood sometimes, i find that strange. i think that when the subconscios is really goin, its unbelievable what it can create.

I had one this morning (not a half hour ago) and it made me curious. It sometimes seems almost impossible that a story this detailed could be generated by my mind in sleep. I usually dream about dumb stuff involving my family or whatever. I wish I had as good ideas awake for story writing. The "Exploring Fictional Worlds" thread made me wonder if maybe I'm channeling snatches of events that have happened on other worlds. After all the "dreamland" isn't that far from the astral, right? Is it possible that this could be happening or am I creating these elaborate stories on my own? Well that's what I'm pondering. They have a different feel to them.

The dream:

It started pretty normally (or at least I remember back this far in the dream it probably started a lot earlier). I was in my childhood neighborhood and we were riding bikes through the streets. Suddenly the scene fuzzily shifted to an expanse of water and I was zooming over that in some kind of hover craft (like the things in Star Wars... what are they called?). I think I was over land and water alternately, but I'm not sure because my focus shifted to the individuals, a male and a female, chasing me. Imagine long chasing scene with fancy moves here. They caught up with me finally, and were very determined to catch me. The female started hacking with a hatchet at the top of my craft and after that I flash to being captive with a group of other people.

I'm a little wary and I don't know what to expect of my captors. They seem pretty hospitable and give us food and let us wash in their bathroom. They are planning on turning us in? to the government. They may be bounty hunters? Or they are selling us to the government as servents. I think it's the latter just from how they acted. We've heard rumor though of bad things happening to the servents of the government. We have some small artworks that have somehow made it out of the government building and they have small inscriptions on them. I look at one. It reads, "I could not get out of the door. My roommate was tied to it." Something similar to that. She only had a very small space to write so there is no explanation.

Our captors brushed off these things as just rumor and seemed to re-assure themselves that we wouldn't be seriously mistreated.

I know from what I've written it doesn't seem that elaborate, but it was the atmosphere too, not just the plot. I'm also retelling what I can remember in a logical sequence. Some images and scenes flashed randomly adding details to the story. For example, I was climbing up a dirt slope and at the rise was a magnificent view of a mountain range to the left. To the right a metropolitan city in a valley. It was dusk the the lights and neon sings in the city made a pretty scene. There were no highrises to mar the horizon.
