It is THAT easy to have a LD?

Not that I have had one yet, but to have a Lucid Dream would I basically have to become aware that I am having a dream? That way as soon as I become aware, I start controlling it?

Wow! I saw it to be a way more complicated process. I'm only 13 and that seems extremely easy. Yet, I should not be underestimating anything right now.

Try to become aware during a dream and let us know what you think of it then.

No its not that easy. Thats just how you can do it for a few seconds. You have to balance your brain between awake and dreaming. It resists staying in the middle state. If you think too much, you'll wake up. If you think too little, you'll forget you're dreaming (maybe for the rest of the night).

You usually wont figure out you're dreaming if you dont try. Your brain has to increase its frequency from 4 hz to about 6 hz. Think what it would feel like after you drank 10 cups of coffee. Without trying, there is little chance your brain would increase to that from a normal state of mind. You can try all day, but forget to try while sleeping. The problem is to be reminded while in the 4 hz state of mind.

Yep, that is all you have to do but it is harder than it seems.

I only have had one LD so far. It happens to me when I am really concious in a dream--mostly because I have to pee--, and I realize that I'm dreaming. That is the only way I had a lucid dream.

lol.. For some reason, I don't think that's going to be much help.

Technically, this is a lucid dream. If you realize you're dreaming, it's lucid. There are some tricks for learning to do this in your dream. If you keep a dream journal, it'll be no problem to start exercising more power over your dreams. Don't let Beavis scare you; it comes naturally with time.
What is the sound of no leaves cloving?

Try looking at your hands to raise awareness.  Tell yourself with a verbal affrimation before you go to sleep:  "When I am dreaming and look at my hands, I will become aware of my dream"

It works for me.  Of course, from there, everything runs into everything else and I wake up with a headache.

I find the best way to realise I'm dreaming is whenever I have a bad dream or nightmare.

There are techniques like Andali explained, but for me that doesn't work.  Best advice is try some techniques and see what works for you.  Be patient though, it may take a while before you get any results.

The real trick is maintaining the dream once you become lucid.  Usually I will become lucid only to either slip back into a dream state or awaken after a few seconds.

In the last days i had more LDs (my first one was at a few months). Not very much of them but sometimes i have one. And i can notice that its like Beavis said: you must learn to maintain the control. Its very hard!

But LD its very nice because you see things with high detail and its very "freshy" and beautiful. In all my LD (were not to much..maybe 6 :(   ) i take the oprtunity to fly. I start flying annd then i say to myself "I will take the oportunity to AP". Then i am so cousncious about what i am doing that i will wake up.

Until now i think that, for myself, the best wat to AP its to try an obe while in sleep paralysis state.
I love you!
