WILD techniques?

This most likely will prove unhelpful but here it is anyway:

The one WILD I had recently seemed to come about completely on it's own.  I was simply laying there thinking, not trying to have a lucid dream. At least, not consciously.  One minute, I was laying next to my husband preparing to have an afternoon nap, the next moment, with no perceivable break in consciousness, the dream environment built itself around me in a breathtaking way, with an almost audible "whoosh".  I remained lucid for an extended period within the dream and was able to test the environment (i.e. dream water feels exactly like real water) until losing lucidity after what felt like quite some time.

On reflection I think I was able to maintain lucidity because although very pleased and awed, I somehow remained unexcited and simply began exploring the environment and observing and noting the types of 'dream-physics' we all know and love.  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>  Nothing scary or untoward happened and no instablility of viewpoint occured as I mentioned in the other thread.

Sorry can't offer more than that...

My dream recall and chances of lucidity are markedly improved when I journal as much as I can remember about the previous night's dreams - It is as though the act of journaling sends a message to your subconscious to pay closer attention to your dreams. So you become more aware during them - and sometimes you become lucid.

One downside is that as you bring more awareness to sleep, sleep is less restful (at least for me.) I can get a full night's sleep and still be tired the next day because I told myself to not sleep too deeply.....

Hi,
I'm quite interested in lucid dreaming but have never really been successful at it. I've tried the technique where I often ask myself if I'm dreaming (when I'm awake) and also ask myself this question whenever I turn off a light for example (hoping to trigger a lucid dream when I do this in a dream). This doesn't seem to be working for me so I need a new technique. I've just discovered WILDs (which sound great) but I'm unsure how to induce them. If people could share with me the ways which they achieve this state I would be very grateful.

Thanks.
