A question about sensations during meditation

The situation and the question that follows it are very simple. When I go to sleep with an intention to meditate before it, it is not rare that I feel sudden coolness touch the back of my neck, and, on other occasions, I feel as if mild burning was taking place on my back, just where my wings would be if I were an angel   ( I don't know how to describe this place more precisely in English)  - as if some coals were put there.
So, the question is - does anybody have an idea what could cause these sensations?

P.S. - I have no health problems.

It seems a lot of people get sensations there, and it seems to correspond to the assemblage point (or at least, that's the association people made with it)... Not sure how much truth there is to that...

I used to have a problem when I was younger, whenever I listened to music on headphones, for some reason, I would get intense tingling in my back, as you said "where my wings would be if I were an angel" -- right between the spine and the right shoulder blade.

It was mainly happening on songs that made use of surround sound to shift sounds from left to right. It seems it made my body awareness shift around my body, hence stimulating parts of the energy body. This created kind of an electric shock in the back which would have me jerk incontrollably...

The problem doesn't happen anymore, but I am able to stimulate that point using NEW, and it still does the same thing!

It seems the best thing to do is to follow Robert Bruce's advice -- it is a clear indicator that there is something there that isn't used to circulating energy, hence you have to stimulate it progressively until you do not feel any uncomfortable symptoms (i.e. clear the blockage there).

Thanks, kiwibonga, this makes sense.. As a matter of fact, I made this post just because these sensations became more often and intense (not unpleasant, but I still wanted to get rid of them)  after I started trying out NEW.

the spinal column is less pleasent* of the 2 isides. if you want good feelings.. focus on the gentials, navel, chest, throat. - if you focus on the throat, focus downward. Throat upward feels uncomfortable. Throat downward feels like dripping/running water - its very comforting. The chest is the best for feeling, the emotions it brings are moving to no end if you can get the spot going properly. The thoat is very beneficial for purpose of meditation or doing any act. The Carlos Casteneda stuff calls it the Center of Decisions. I love their practical explanations. Every energy pump that is sent in the throat rejuvinates your power to decide (it is applicable to ANYTHING in life) If you want to know more on why, I suggest looking up the Thyroid gland.

I too get those cold feelings on the back of my neck..have never had anyone explain what that might be. Sometimes (but rarely) it starts at my neck and feels like it's slowly oozing down my back (down my spine). Doesn't worry me or anything like that, just very interesting. I too have no idea what it could be.
Never had the burning feelings though...except when my legs begin to cramp from sitting too long in meditation sometimes, heh heh.
