Okay. Here is the deal, all you have to do to get proficient at NEW is just being able to pinpoint your awareness correct? Does it matter how you go about this, as long as you get the general effect? I know different people use different methods to get results to make their awareness "stand out" sort to speak. But after you've done this for a while, NEW should become  nearly effortless within a reasonable amount of time , right?

I have a few experiments I'd like to try with this to help me pinpoint my awareness better, but I won't post them until I test them out first and see how effective they are with me first, I just wanted to be sure of something first.

Thanks for any feedback.

It definately gets easier over time. You don't have to concentrate so much focusing awareness, you just do it. The sensations come much quicker and easier to direct.

When I started using NEW, I would do like RB says and imaging using "brushing" and "wrapping", etc. to get it started, and then "sponge" it around my body. It took a little while to get it moving.

Now I get straight to moving it directly, or maybe use a little "sponging" to jump start it if it's slow.

Let us know how things work for you.

Ditto.  After some time just putting your attention on a body part will be enough- other times a little sponging does the trick.  What Stookie said.

Thanks, Both of you!!

I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out.^^

Believe me, it is better to develop your awareness working on NEW than developing it previously and then go on NEW.

It's a matter of daily-desire. Some days your awareness will work on a lower level and others on a faster pace. The trick is to find out several "triggers" that will help you in those different mood states.

For example, if someday my tactile awareness is drowsy I tend to use visual imagery, or I remember daily situations that could help me (normally related with water, as the shower time, because remembering water flowing around your body also helps).

An example: let's assume I want to activate my feet. I put all my efforts on feeling tactile sensations on my soles but I'm so tired or distracted that I can't. Then I project myself into a beach, close to the surfs. I image myself walking on sand and beads while randomly surfs hit my feet. That is enough to activate them. Do you get it? ;-)

Hope this can help. Best wishes.
