Burning sensation whilst Energy Raising

Sounds like Kundalini energy.  Is the sensation in the spine itself or generally mid-back?

Hi Tia,

Well it seems to be mid back, but concentrating on the spine and maybe an inch either side and the effects are similar to when i raise energy elsewhere and get sudden rushes but i've never had heat generated before. It really is as if i have suddenly put a dollop of deep heat on my back.

Kundalini, i've think i have read about that, isn't it dangerous?

The mid-back sounds like the T11 vertebra. According to Mantak Chia, it acts as a minor pump for cerebrospinal fluid. It is an important location for opening up the microcosmic orbit. They suggest rubbing blocked areas with a silk cloth when working on the microcosmic orbit. I'd suggest some sort of physical exercise to stretch out the area. Yoga, alexander technique, chi kung, etc.

Ruby,

I was so glad you posted this.  For four years I use to hold crystals when meditating.  Then suddenly one year ago I stopped when I started feeling a burning sensation up my arms that would eventually spread through my entire body.  At first I thought the crystals had been contaminated with an undesirable energy.  But after carefully cleaning the crystals for several days in salt water and in the sun I still had the same effect.  It was very odd, cleaning had always worked before. It felt almost like I had been holding uranium or something (not that I know what that feels like) but it is most unpleasant.  Then when I tried to meditate without the crystals I ended up with the same sensation.  Less intense but now I have just grown use to it.  It happens to me all the time.  My nerves seem to function just fine during the day so it is not causing any damage.  At first I stopped because I thought I was actually getting nerve damage.  The one thing I would suggest though is to drink lots of water.  I find it helps.  Stretching also helps but it never really gets rid of the buzzing, firey feeling though...at least in my particular case.  Please let me know if you find a solution that works.  I would dearly like to know.

Respect and regards,
Violet

I dont know, energy sensations can be awsome and come in all forms...  I have had the opposite, not burning but chills, although not too bad.  Personally if I felt discomfort above a certain level I would stop energy work until it had resolved itself.

It wouldn't do any harm to read up on Kundalini, it's all energy.

You could also try Mantac Chia, he might be on to something as the 'Microcosmic Orbit' is supposed to be all about mixing the hot and cold currants.

Unless this is actually VERY uncomfortable or painful, I wouldn't worry about it overly much.  Burning sensations, energy surges, even trembling or hot flashes, and dizziness are things that I've seen associated with a rise in a person's ability to generate and store energy.  This ability increases when a person practices energy working regularly.  It may be a bit uncomfortable, but I've never seen anyone come to harm from it.
Just like working out--you feel the burn.

Dear Tia,

Thanks very much.  I really like your idea.  It makes a lot of sense to me.  If one had too much yang in one spot then they might feel fire and too much yin in another they might feel cool.  I am definitely heavy on the yang.  I likely need to bring it back into balance in my entire body.  I also work with almost all men so that does not help much either. I have found it much better in the last month or so since I started drinking a lot of water.  But what surprised me is how it came on so suddenly.  Just suddenly one day I started feeling fire in the viens no slow build up of this feeling over time. It does not affect my ability to work or move in anyway... so it is likely just something I am feeling on the astral level.  I do like your idea though and will try to eat more yin energy foods.  It could also be a diet problem because I notice I also have less of a problem when I eat more fruits in the summer.  Real yogurt is also suppose to be very good I hear.

Best Regards,
Violet

Hello All,

Two months ago i stopped energy raising because i kept getting an intense burning sensation in my mid back, running up along my spine. Three days ago i resumed and had the same effect.

Has anyone had this problem? I wasn't aware that there was any chakras there? I find this not only uncomfortable but it breaks my concentration.

Regards,
RM
