It crosses my mind that the DBZ comics / cartoons would be very funny to imitate in lucid dreams. Energy raising sensations are often very strong in that condition and things like flying, throwing fire, or whatever a DBZ does would be easily accomplished.

panabelle

Excuse me, but how do you know what's possible?

I just want ONE good explanation of how you know that it is completely impossible to do anything more than make a ki ball.

Shawn McCaffrey

Just because it seems farfetched doesnt mean it's not true, I mean to the average Joe YOUR beleifs in energy balls would make them think your mom was a crackhead.  Get the point?  We are limitless, even in the physical, we just have to learn how to do these things, and I k people like the ones on this site are the poineers and the people who think we are crazy are the ones who will take your hard work for granted when it is commonplace.  Just thoughts.  [:D]

Tom

In my religion there is a description of how to go about getting special abilities. There is a state of concentration called "access concentration". It is said that one person in one thousand can reach it. It really is not easy and can take a year to stabilize even in isolation. Then there is the first jhana. Jhana does not translate well. Of the people who reached access concentration, one person in one thousand can reach the first jhana. Of the people who reached the first jhana, only one person in one thousand can reach the second jhana. Fortunately the numbers are just overstatements to make a point, because otherwise only six people in the world could get this far and the pattern continues. The third and fourth jhanas are just as difficult to reach and stabilize. After the fourth jhana is reached and stabilized it is time to develop magickal abilities like flying, mastering the elements, invisibility, and the rest.

Shawn McCaffrey

Yikes! Can you send a link about this.  Invisibility, flyig, elements?  SUPERHERO TIME! j/k but can you send a link or info as to how I can learn more? thanks

ok i should prolly explain something. first of all i'm not saying anythin is impossible. like u said our possiblities are endless.

what i am trying to say is that saying one can preform a kamehameha wave is like me saying i commincate with the dead....possible but not likely. the skills most people claim of having at the age of thirteen now a days is amazing when u consider that one could spend years in total isolation in the middle of nowhere meditating and not get anywhere in terms of energy development.

there is something i do have a problem with.....well not a problem actually. i just think its funny that mostly all the techniques on theteachingsofki.tripod.com come from a tv show for children *which i am a big fan of.....dbz rules*not only that but unlike qigong, yoga and tai chi which all have history dating back to ancient times, i have never heard anything about Ki techniques until now. Its just kind of odd that the is nothing in the history books saying there has be proof of people preforming kamhamehas. I would think people might write about see others creating energy balls out of nowhere and firing at eachother. but then again thats just my opinion

silva

I have to agree this person has some good points.  I mean a ki ball that you can see.. even people without clairvoyant gifts.

This is not to offend auraseer but all that dragonball Z type stuff I really think discredits the real importance of energy into making it "look at my powers" and so many of those powers are so farfetched.

I understand no one wants to call someone a liar, but some who are somewhat skeptical.. after going to a site where a person claims its so easy to levitate themselves.. make ki balls everyone can see.. (not in the astral but on the physical) and a variety of other powers.. it comes off as childish.  Just like the cartoon.  Its important to believe there are possibilities but its also important to realize you dont have to be able to see ki as a huge ball in someones hand or that person levitating in the air to realize its very important.  I think most of those claims if not all are fake and are put out for personal glory.

I very much believe in energy.. both in lucid dreams and the one time I projected as well as when i fast for days I am able to see a very small trace.. (kinda smokey) type thing.  But to pretend you can make a big white ball everyone can see?  I really believe its healthy to be skeptical.. not cynical where you dont believe anything even if there's proof.  But there's a limit to the amount of credibility you can give every young teen who claims they can do anything a cartoon can do.

This is obviously just my opinion and not meant to offend.  But I've held my tongue on the issue in order to think of a way to say it that maybe isn't as offensive.

panabelle

Again, give me one way YOU can tell that anything is impossible.

And just because they call a jing blast a Kamehameha doesn't mean anything.

sloppyjoe42

OK again let me say NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE just improbible. and i have a question......has anybody actually used any of these ki techniques in a real fight and if so against who/what? i doubt there could be more than a few people in one area who know anything about ki techniques let alone use them in a fight.

Tom

There is a big difference between actual fighting and training exercises. The basis for methods used in both is the same, but in a real situation the application must be faster and more fluid.

Another thing to keep in mind with things like kung fu is that it is more of a victory to avoid fighting than to beat up someone.

Squeek

WOW!  11 posts in just a day.  That's gotta be some sort of a record!

If I didn't do anything I thought was impossible I'd be afraid to do anything.  When I was 6, I thought jumping off the very top of the jungle gym while only landing on your feet was impossible.  I did that one :)  After I climbed to the top of a mountain (Thought just that was impossible), I nearly died.  I thought at the time it was impossible to get back on, but I did it.  Anything that crossed my mind as a challenge, I've done it.  This actually includes hikin 75 miles in 100+ F weather up mountains in New Mexico.  :) :) :)

I agree. NOTHING is impossible.  It's all just improbable. (Think i spelt that right).

silva

I think its important just because we believe anything is possible we dont believe everything someone says they have done.  Sometimes you have to rely on intuition...and sometimes common sense.  Especially if the person claims to do things that are provable.  If you can levitate at will.. then you can prove it.  Do whatever it takes.. Im sure a persons sister would be glad to help if she saw that person 4 inches off the ground.  Or even one?

In a lot of ways we have natural skepticism for our own good.  Its possible with a 20 dollar investment we'll make a million dollars but around the second time someone runs off with your money you might want more proof.  Its possible you can become a millionaire from buying some tape but again after a few times you might think twice.  In a way being skeptical helps us not be taken by everything.  Now i realize by believing something here none of us are losing anything.  But each time a person involved in the paranormal gets proven as a fraud it discredits a lot of the real stuff.

TO TOM!

About your religion!

Tom

There is an e-book I just uploaded while might be of interest. It is about the jhanas.

sloppyjoe42

Ok tom here is the thing. I know one of the main things about any martial art is to try to aviod fighting but another is to prepare u just incase u can't get out of a fight *hints why many people use martial art as a type of self defense*. People don't need martial art to keep out of fights. They need it to defend themselves.  the problem i have with these ki techniques is that what are they being used for. .I would think learning things like the "Burning Punch", "Dragon Bite", and "Genki Dahma" would be used for fighting but I'm not sure about u but i've never met any invading aliens or met anybody with the power to destroy things using their own energy. If these techniques aren't being used for defense then why try to learn techniques past the ki ball. Bragging rights? I guess it could increase your physical energy a bit but my energy increases after every time i do yoga or work out at the gym. Medition helps me spiritually and mentally so i got those covered and as far as self defense goes i'm a thai kickboxer so most people don't get into fights with me.

Please somebody explain to me what u using thing like jing blasts for beside maybe putting holes in things like walls.

Shawn McCaffrey

Because you just never know.

panabelle

Well, if you COULD put a hole in a wall, that would definitely be good for proving the existence of Ki to a skeptic.

kakkarot

sloppy, you also have to keep in mind though that martial arts are developed in times of war. hence the strong need to be able to fight, and fight well. the martial arts are a means of war, martial means war. you could use them for something less, but it won't hold up worth crap to a real martial artist.

the reason why people are taught to avoid using the martial arts in street fights is because the martial arts are supposed to be deadly, not sports like first world countries have turned them into; by avoiding a fight, you avoid accidentally killing someone. except, in the wussy sports that are called martial arts, you are taught to avoid starting fights because these societies deem that violence is unacceptable and should not be used (except by the military or police, etc. is it any wonder why north americans are so weak?).

ok i'm alittle new to all this psi,ki, chi stuff. my whole life i've been totally into the supernatural (ghost, the afterlife, telekenisis). I believe most of it. I believe in esp, and telekenisis. I believe u can control others using your mind, tell the future, and move things with your mind. Hell on some days i even believe u can make psi/ki balls but thats as far as i go. Some the thing i've read about are just pure bovine excrement *pardon the language*. for example the site theteachingsofki.tripod.com . sorry to all the fans of that site and others like it but its just plain idiotic. Ok i think its possible to make a psi ball but to say it's possible to preform moves like the characters on dragonball z.....u must have been dropped on your head one too many times when u were a child, either that or your mom did some pretty screwed up drugs while she was pregnant with u.
If u wanna do some stuff to increase your energy try some stuff that actually works. Do some Qi Gong Yoga, Power Yoga, Tai Chi,or just some form of Martial Arts. Those are great for energy development. U could even try the NEW method. any of those will work but be smart about it. If anything seems "out of the world" it prolly is.

If u have any comments of questions please either im me or respond to thing. and if u could prove me wrong to any of the above please try and do so.
