Conceptual understanding and reasonable judgement

I was thinking about why the world is the way it is, why the world isn't perfect, and why the "norm" in the present day does not encompass the "actual". I believe the answer lies in the fact that conceptual understanding in one area is not always shared by everyone else, and that reasonable judgement is based on "core" conceptual understanding of the majority of people.

A short while ago I considered "what makes a good reading?" Whether it is a book/article or journal, it doesn't matter. I came to the conclusion that a text is never "good" or "bad" material.

The only measure of a texts usefulness is the level to which it can be exploited by any one particular reader. I could read a book about Biomedical Science and probably not have much use from it because I wouldn't understand any of it. None of it would be relevant to me. However to someone interested in the field the understanding s/he deduces from it would be beneficial. Hence information is as good as useless until understanding is made from it.

So why do I believe this is important?

Well because subjects such as spirituality fall just outside the edges of social judgement of a "reasonable mentality". The inclination to write this very thread came from me considering why subjects such as spirituality are considered outside of the norm of society. We can safely say from looking over the past 6,000 years of history that contemporary thinking is contrived.

I believe that reasonable judgement is based on "core" thoughts. The concepts, ideas and reasons that we develop are based on the framework of our original core thought system. So if our core thought system is programmed to associate success with such things as affluence, intelligence and elegance then the thoughts that come after that will be based and related to the original thought process.

I have gained a lot of understanding from reading works by Robert Bruce and other authors even though the information may be foreign to many people. From creating new core thought patterns about topics in spirituality I am able to comprehend writings in a much larger scope, whereas someone new to these topics would hold the ideas in sturdy apprehension and rejection.

For this reason it is clear why spirituality, OBE, multi-dimensional reality, energy ect. are foreign to so many people. Isn't building new thought patterns to broaden understanding the very essence of having an open mind?

Comprehension in the field of computers was before recently too a foreign area of knowledge. When the basic thought forms were learnt by people they were familiar with computer environments and the information age quickly integrated into modern reality. If people stood oblivious to this new field of potential then it would have not fostered so successfully. Asking a person who has never heard of computers to carry out a simple software instruction would probably lead to you being labelled insane. The scope of reference of the person being addressed is too narrow in that particular direction to comprehend, process, and evaluate the information you have given them.

I have read so many online articles that use very vague terms and yet I am often able to exploit the valuable information from them to re-enforce my already synthesized knowledge in a particular scope of understanding. You have to admit that when you read some articles about spirituality they make no sense at all unless you have the previous conceptual knowledge to interpret and synthesize them.

The problem of spirituality vs. materialism is that the core thought systems are at the deepest levels of the psyche. Spirituality will not manifest as an actual reality in this reality until we change how we think, not just what we think. This involves going to the root of our psyche and changing the core thought processes to encompass the ideas that would allow for a new/higher reasonable judgement.
