Hello, I am Eric, currently stationed with the US Navy in Guantanamo Bay. New to the whole world of AP though I heard about it many years ago (when it sounded like a bunch of crazy, "devil-worshiping" nonsense to me) and really just started getting interested in in the past month or two. I'm currently reading the book "Adventures out of the body" by William L Buhlman, which has been helpful. I've entered the "vibrational state" about 3 times in the past 10 days so hopefully I discover some more tools here to get that first OBE accomplished and move from there!  :-)

Originally I hail from the wesleyan christian denomination (just an offshoot of methodist) but I'm not sure what I would call myself these days. Kind of just a spiritual explorer of sorts now.

That greeting may never have been uttered before, that is for sure. I read "GTMO" as "GMO" lol...

Good luck with your practice! This site can be a great resource for both reading archived materials and posting new questions when you can't find an answer; there are stickies at the tops of some of the upper forums sections which may prove useful to someone in the theory acquisition stages too!

Hello and Welcome to the Astral Pulse!  :-)

We try to keep the "devil worshipping nonsense" to a minimum, lol!  :-D

William is an excellent Author and Teacher/Trainer. On Youtube.com you can find many of his interviews. Here is his most recent and it's a Gem as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gewT3DtsRWM

Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Hi and welcome to the Pulse.
I hope you are successful in your endeavours. One thing you should do that is important is to not think about your sleeping body. You are attempting to remove the concious you away from it which is hard enough. To try and feel any bodily sensations just ties you to it longer. There will be some in the early stages, that's normal. Try to get away as soon as you can if you feel the progress you're making is improving. Im sure you'll have read this already.
Don't be afraid of wierd sensations too, these can be intense at times but are harmless. The fear issue has to be resolved as what you think will manifest.
Doing your job will have resolved most of your fears so it's not too big an issue.
Have a read of the stickies, questions are welcome.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.
