I think thats a pretty important distinction.  I have no problem stating "I believe all that stuff is possible".  Or some watered down version of theories.  Such as "People claim.. or I read somewhere", but as far as saying "I have OBE's" I have a hard time with this.

For one, I feel like Im bragging.  And it comes off that way.  To people who dont know one thing about metaphysical stuff thats almost like saying "im an angel" or "im very advanced" its not natural for most people.  The second was what I learned from something I thought was harmless.. When I started realizing not everyone had lucid dreams I told my mom "I know when Im dreaming and I can often do things in them to control them".  She almost flat out said i was lying and looked at me weird.

I didnt even know they were called LD's then.  So before a person goes around telling people they can AP or they can ki blast someone you should also look at your motives.  Maybe its better to educate them on the theories behind it and make it less "mysical" and "supernatural" first.  But stating you can do these things often does sound like you think you're christ like.

Some people think if you say you're psychic you should be able to read their minds.  Or you should be able to heal.  Its just too "mysical" and "supernatural" still to go around telling everyone YOU are one of the ones who can do these things.  If you have understanding parents fine, but often people will be nice about things and think "he's full of excrement".

I guess my point was i think its different talking about these issues as if its just a topic, and saying "I can do this and that".

Though if you're from a religious family maybe talking about the possibilities will even be dangerous.

It is hard talking about it to most people. Its not because I'm embarrassed. They just dont want to know. They like to be ignorant. We've all been where they are for many lifetimes.

The first week you learn about all this information, you gotta tell somebody, you know?  Friends, Family, Neighbors, etc.  Well, I made this topic for some odd reason that had to do with advising people never to do that.  I'll even list why!

Friends - Make sure you know who your friends really are. I told 5 of who I thought were my closest friends, guess how many are still buddies with me?  ONE. I lost the other four. They now hate me.  Everyday I face ridicule for what I beleive (Which i find appaling but still...)  The other friend kinda just shrugged it off. He understands why I want to pursue it, but never brings it up in a comversation (AND doesn't tell the entire school of 2100 students)

Neighbors - If you have neighborhood friends, the odds are actually greater towards success somehow. I still recommend keeping it to yourself, but I told my neighbor (who happened to love DragonBallZ) and he was totally into it, moreso than me...  He's probably farther along too, but we don't really chat during the school year.

Family - Lemme break this one down into 2 parts.

Brothers / Sisters - This is a 50/50 chance here. Either they will accept it and even try some of their own, or they will hate you / tell on you (for something...)  Personally, I wouldn't even tell my sister how old i am, that's how much I keep from her (even though it's not hard to find out...)

Parents - Ok. Now, with my parents, they'll think I'm crazy again and send me to the school psychologist. Beleive me, it HAS happened before.  Parents are the most non-understanding people in the world!

Here's my story from 4th grade that made my parents worried for my sanity.

Back in the day, I lived in a tiny room with a "bunk" bed that my dad built that really sucked.  I had a very old computer, but I still had to use it for school and stuff.  One day, when I arrived home from school, I smelled this horribly purtid STANK that was coming from my computer. It smelled like a dead mouse and, since those weren't to uncommon in OUR crappy house, that's what I figured it was. My parents never smelled anything. I didn't understand.  So one day I'm minding my own business at school, using a shiny book cover to reflect sunlight in this guy's eyes during a test that I had already finished in about 2 seconds and I got called to the guidance office. She wanted to talk to me about dead mice -.-

So you see, my parents think I'm crazy. Can't tell them anything that's not "normal"

Feel free to yell at me, question my statements, or post your own comments.
