Well, it's about many things...

Honestly, I think it's the manifestation of people's frustrations of their reality.

One person was interviewed said it was about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

It's about many things now.

I'll tell you exactly why it's happening.  It's about looting.  They are mindless thugs!  Animals!  Many of them are teenagers!!  Why are they doing this?  Because they know that by law they cannot be touched!  The government had this coming a long time.  My mum has walked past a group and they were laughing amongst themselves saying that the police are powerless to stop them and that they can take anything they want.  F the rules they said.

They have been breaking into people's homes and pulling people out of their cars.  They have been mugging people too!  Several have been physically assaulted.  The law-abiding citizens don't deserve this.  Why is it happening?  Because the governement said youths can't be touched and the system is too soft on crime!  Why is it happening?  Because years ago the police killed someone by accident and they got accused of being brutal.  Then the government imposed rules for them in that they should be more lenient.  Now people want them to be hard again!  The police have their hands tied and all they do is tell people to evacuate and they retreat with no weapons (only shields) while the rioters march forth and attack!

You people have no idea what is happening here in London.  We are right here in the middle of it!  The law-abiding citizens are fearful and can't even go shopping!  Now there is a curfew!  It's stupid!  They should have introduced discipline with these kids ages ago.  Now it's too late.  The police need to kill a few and then they will stop laughing (as my mum saw them do) and stop what they are doing completely.  They need to be afraid.  At the moment they are laughing.

There is no justification for what they are doing.  Many of the buildings that were destroyed had survived several generations.  They are not crying for help.  These are planned attacks for profit and they want anarchy!  We have, not just adults committing crimes, but also very young children.  Why should the people that have worked so hard for their money have it stolen and their businesses trashed?  They are not angry.  They are laughing at all the destruction and are ecstatic at the fact that they can take what they want without having to worry about the police.  They have the weapons!  Who in their right mind will have fun destroying a city, incite fear, show off about the public disorder they create, attack people, and steal?  They are mindless thugs who deserve their comeuppance.

Our government needs to bring back the death penalty.  At the moment, they should get the army involved and warn the rioters to stop or else...- anyone who is seen misbehaving should be shot on the spot!

I understand that all too well. Being one of the sufferers for too many years. Do I riot? No, so tell me when this mindless group destroy their area how can they whine about no food, no electricity, no law and order, ...
Mob rule never works. The recent cuts don't either.
If you have the answer then tell your local newspaper, be the saviour.

Exactly!  If it was about what they don't have they wouldn't destroy it.  They also hide their faces like cowards.  Besides...they have everything they want because they are stealing!  It is what they have been doing all their lives but never as a pack and never with the phone tech they have.  This is unprecedented.

Its the governments fault and the parents of the those mindless C****s, as Summerlander said the teenagers of today haven't been brought up with enough discipline and they feel like they are powerful and can't be touched, I understand and know things need to change but this is not the way mindless violence against innocent people is it right that people me included are barricaded in our homes petrified what could happen throughout the night praying that no trouble comes this way and harms us, my 3 children are fast asleep and like last night I doubt I shall sleep in order to protect my children and home from despicable, disgusting, moronic, evil thugs!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if you would say this if they broke into your house.  They are not upset with the system.  They are laughing at the system that has handicapped/crippled the law-enforcers.  As far as I'm concerned, living in London wasn't so bad to the point where a riot like this should happen. I'm not rich.  We scrape by.  But we are not looting!  Anyone who has brains can make a living here in London.  The MINDLESS can't and they are taking it out on the innocent!!!  Whoever is not happy about the current system should aim to become a politician and try to make a change - NOT BECOME A RIOTER!!!

What they are doing is destroying civilisation here.  It is UNETHICAL!  There is nothing right about rioting.  These thugs are taking advantage of something so minor that took place: a gangster was shot dead.  That's where it all started and now it isn't even about that.  It's about taking advantage!!  When a man got killed by police by accident years ago and people were shocked...guess what...there was NO RIOT.

Now there are stealing alcohol and trashing everything.  Nothing is left intact.

There are groups of men who have decided to fight against the rioters.  They are angry at the fact that they have frightened their families! They are heros and have the right to be angry.  They are ANGRY and RIGHTLY SO, c0sm0nautt!!

   A fearful friend sent a message from their house. On the park there's lots of empty shoe boxes and old trainers being picked up by the police.
The mindless have not heard of DNA yet, but soon will.
Why rob charity shops? Its total nonsense, inexcusable and illogical.
An uprising, hey its mostly kids who have no understanding of the 'real world', unless its all organised somehow. They know they cant be touched by the law, unfortunately for the rest of society.

Suffice to say, I can definitely understand your anger, Summerlander.  100% justified.

I can also see the other side of the coin too though... and you even pointed out just how broken our system is. 
These riots, while definitely NOT condonable... are pointing out the problems rather well.  It unfortunate, but on the flip side of things... people keep giving the same type of people power election after election.  One could say that the people asked for this.

As I pointed out though, not all of the people rioting are "hoodlums" and "thieves".  Some of the actually are upset at the system.  It's just too easy to brush them all with a single stroke though.  It's quite likely that the only ones being reported upon right now are the kids, but there's probably a lot more out there than that.

In any case, I wish you and everyone else in the area a speedy and safe return to normal life.  :/

Are you sure about that because so far I have seen no banners being waved about saying the system is excrement!  They are criminals who need to be brought to justice.  Period.  As I've said before, it is not even about the people who are elected.  If you have a brain go to university and study to become a politician so you can make a change in a decent and fair way.  What these rioters have done can never be justified and, besides, what is wrong with this country does not have to be pointed out in this way (if it was even the motive behind the attacks but I can assure you it's not).  The people can see that the country has been struggling - they don't need criminals destroying their country.  All the criminals are doing is proving themselves to be just that! CRIMINALS!  We are currently flushing them out.  Praise the heros and bonk all of you who try to justify their actions.

anyone know what they are saying is wrong with the system (exactly or their abouts), consciousness is diverse around the world some countrys (as a whole) switched on more than others at a higher (in AREAS) of consciousness, thats why it happen(s) (up riseing) over in the eastern countrys some time ago and of late, as a whole ya can tell their level of consciousness (areas)(complicated), people arent stupid even so-called thugs even have a consciousness that in "ways" is connected (mostly unconsciously) to all just like yours and mine...

So once again, I raise the point, that yes the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Its happening all over the world, see? Now we get all upset when we see signs and symptoms on our front door step. I'm saying, if we help the developing countries more, there will be less trouble in our own neighborhood, see?

So I'm preaching unconditional love, whats so wrong and threatening about that? Why, in my own thread, do people refuse to discuss responsibly and in such detail, the problems in the world? Why, here, does someone raise the valid point of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, but lambasts me for merely posting and helping and greeting people?

Why does everyone here seem to be so advanced spiritually, but they can't see that the spiritual cries of suffering of those starving in Africa - and I refer once again to the precious, precious children who are going hungry, millions and millions of them - why can't they see that as ether says, the spiritual negative energy of all this bad stuff going on, is coming back to haunt them?

How does the above post constitute "trolling" and prove that I am a fraud? Does anyone think the above post is a fraud?

I constitute a voice on the internet for those who do not have a voice, and believe you me, the people who are starving and suffering almost never get a chance to post in a forum like this.

Love is all there is - you know, I have a low self esteem, and I hate being picked apart by people, but I continue anyway? It makes me cry to think of how helpless people are - and how neglected. I seem to be one of the few, who has taken up this stance, so I know I need to continue, see? No-one else is standing up for the helpless people, the way Jesus did, when he said, Love each other, and by that, he means unconditionally, ok? He didn't say, feed them only if they're worthy, hey?

Love and all that candy cakes. Love is all that matters. I'll stand up for love, again, and again. No matter how often bullies make me feel less than, no matter how much I'm told to shut up when I bring up the subject of the starving children, and how pathetically torturous it is to starve to death.

Yes I hate being called a "troll" and a "fraud" just for preaching love. I hate it, and I start hating myself. Now just imagine how those children feel, when they can't even get one breadcrumb to eat?

Because equating spiritual growth with MONEY/POWER/TECHNOLOGY/FOOD/A FULL STOMACH is useless.  It's wrong.  You don't need money or power to grow spiritually.  I can guarantee you that the people you're referring to in "Africa" know and understand Love better than you ever will.  You're such a superficial individual Godsproxy I'd NEVER expect you to understand this.

Look beyond the suffering in "Africa"... I bet you anything that more of those families have a much better idea what it means to be Love towards one another than most North American families.  Sure, a good portion of them go to bed hungry at night, that doesn't preclude them from spirituality/spiritual growth.

your on a site where peoples intelligence is higher than that (mostly) of a site based on cars/knitting/sewing ya get the idea of it they are studying the mind man mind=elite of all fields, so therefore they seek information/knowledge, not all see it, those that pick ya apart are just seeking more info on how to go about it, testing ya, show them more...

and yes they see the problem with poverty but what can be done about it ya get to a height and ya hit a brick wall until ya learn something (spoken about in one of my earlier posts on this topic), then and only then can ya make the big dent, maybe ya should share with them or come up with something that can be done to start something on a smaller scale, complicated...ya wont hit no walls their man (Spirituality is a Test man, you gotta open a walk through the doors yaself)...

not all see the L word as the solution (it's hard work) that can solve the problems so therefore ya get the knockers (info seekers mostly) people here are trained in this field (info seekers) of extracting info out of ya hence "picking ya apart"...

being "picked apart" is ya best friend man as it shows something...
