Hi, I have been trying to OBE consciously recently, but to not much avail. Anyone, i'd like to clarify what I experienced.

1:I heard on here that the "floating feeling" you get while relaxing your body is a sympton of trance, and not actually OBE'ing. Can you tell me the difference between the two.

2:Your physical body, at what point does it have to be relaxed, and would it be relaxed to be point that you can't move it even if you tried?

3:When relaxing, I always get a swallowing sensation in my throat, does me making a swallowing action interfere with trying to create a mind awake/body asleep state?

4:I have tried the method of leaving your arm in the air when falling asleep and it waking you when you go unconscious, but I find this extremely hard to attain, are there any easier methods that can wake you up immediately after you fall asleep?

Thanks very much.

IMO, the 'floating feeling' is your energy body that has become loose, or to put it in other terms, is 'out of phase' with your physical body- It's an OBE that is still in the physical location of your body, but not separated.

Yes.  I have heard of people that can OB while being awake and moving, but frankly that to me is the exception to the rule.  I have always been paralyzed when I OB.

Worrying about it and becoming conscious of the swallowing does.  I'm sure we salivate when we sleep, and other than drooling, I would guess we swallow.  But concentrating on it will make you think about it and then notice it more.  I used to have a problem like that with my ears (for another post-one of those weird things). Swallow and ignore it. Count your breaths, move your energy, whatever to take your attention away from this.

A pre-sleep suggestion can help:  "I will become aware in 1 hour" (or however long).  Sit on a recliner, so you're comfortable, but not too comfortable.  Any number of things can help.  Do it on the couch, where any movement will make one arm topple off.  Variety.

Well, I hope this helped.  Good luck.
