Astral projection from a dream

I've yet to achieve astral projection, I should really start trying again. I can only help you with lucid dreaming. I don't know if this has already been mentioned but what really helped me:

-grab yourself a book about lucid dream and just generally read a lot about it

-choose a reality check technique that works for you and stick to it. Mine is checking if I have 5 fingers on each hand. When I'm dreaming, normally I will count 6-8 fingers. It's a really simple, quick and easy method. And it's relatively easy to do anywhere, even if you do get caught doing it people will just think you're counting something. Do this around every hour of the day.

-Meditate often. For some reason this helps me.

-Set your alarm to wake you up between 5am-7am. Well it really depends on what time you go to sleep and get up. Read about lucid dreams for around 20-40 minutes. Go back to sleep and think of lucid dreaming.

-Ask your angels or spirit guides to help you lucid dream

-Try really hard to remember dreams and definitely keep a dream journal. Remember to write in the present tense as if it's actually happening at the time

As for astral projecting from a lucid dream, I still can't do it. I've exhausted every method mentioned. I'll get there some day.

Hey Gbob did you try this method? It's a bit long I know:

Method Three: Altering your Perception in a Lucid Dream to Induce an Out of Body Experience
The more I examined the perceived differences between lucid dreams and out of body experiences, the more I came to one realization. The most important difference between them is how you view and experience them at the time. Based on this subjective difference I decided to modify my thinking while in a lucid dream, once I become lucid and have stabilized my lucidity in the dreamscape, I will think "Wow! I am out-of-body! I'm having an OBE!" instead of thinking "Wow! I am dreaming!" The results are incredible and lead me to believe that your experience is definitely what YOU make it. Your experience is based largely on how you view it and perceive it at the time, and these views can be changed to change the whole experience. When I alter my view of the situation and decide to perceive the experience as an out of body experienceI find that my experience immediately takes on OBE-like qualities. Intensity levels and overall lucidityincreases without even having to go through the process of intending increased lucidity. By simply thinking that you are out of body leads to situation where your subconscious begins to create a nexperience that corresponds to your preconceptions. Your thoughts, beliefs, and your intent directly andindirectly create and maintain your experience in the dream realm and the OBE realm, if in fact the tworealms are different. By consciously altering the way you are viewing and interpreting your experiencesyou bypass the normal checks and balances of your belief systems. Choosing to view your lucid dreams as OBEs is much like hitting a warp-speed button that manifests an experience to match your newperspective. The results so far seem very promising. It has shown me that your outlook on any given situation like the"observer effect" can drastically affect the situation itself, for better or for worse depending on what viewyou choose. This is definitely an advanced technique that assumes you already have a certain amount of control in the lucid dream realm. If you have trouble maintaining a normal lucid dream, you may need to develop your ability to sustain and prolong your lucidity as well as your ability to handle heightened levels of lucidity before attempting to transform them into OBE-like experiences. However, the underlying principle behind this method can be used to maximize your lucid dreaming experiences and your waking experiences as well. Change the way you choose to perceive it, and not surprisingly, the whole experience will change accordingly. These three methods are great ways to transform your lucid dreams into out of body experiences. Even if you fail to induce an OBE, you may still find many surprising perceptual twists when you experimentwith these methods. Keep trying them and testing them, and you may find an accessible gateway into an intensely altered state of mind.

Saying that you are out of body rather then lucid dreaming is a great idea. I will try that myself! I can become lucid a few times a week but can never seen to break free from the dream.

Good luck... I've never been able to do it either!  :-D

Hey, Timandra!

That's EXACTLY my technique for projecting from dreams. I tend to do it multiple times a night because I don't really dream non-lucid dreams anymore (kind of miss the frivolous ones but I like this gift)  :-D I do this if I want to get to the better places at least, otherwise if I want a RTZ projection I'll will myself back into my body while its still sleeping (sleep paralysis - UGH) and IF (and this is a very rare if because they're usually always there) there are no negs in the room with me, I can leave.

And it's a very good technique isn't it, it's so easy you wouldn't think of it. I did this technique and it worked very well, but not until I read this book I realised that I had been using it without being aware of it. I envy your gift for having so many lucid dreams, I rarely get them anymore and I would still like to explore more of their possibilities, not even to obe from because I have those regularly.  :-)

Thanks Timandra for the technique, will definitely try it out at some point!

Today I had 2 lucid dreams in a row! All these LD's are coming back to me now...I think it's because of this thread which has kick started it  As always they were ordinarily boring: basically just me wandering around my garden for a bit before waking up. *yawn*

However the second one was very fuzzy! I had real difficulty seeing anything, my vision felt a bit pixelated if you know what I mean (sort of like low resolution photo). And my vision was very limited, at the top and bottom of my vision I was aware of 2 giant eyelids and it was gradually closing up so I couldn't see anything. I had to use my hands to pry them open. But this then resulted in me waking up. It was very strange indeed. I have trouble sustaining LD's. I use the spinning method which helps tremendously but as soon as I stop spinning it feels like I'm losing hold of it. I don't want to be constantly spinning around in my dreams lol. oh also, why is it sometimes I feel very paralyzed in my dreams and I can't seem to move? Is it all to do with low energy?

Sorry Jan for hijacking your thread

I had an interesting dream last night......I dreamed I was walking in a park, and then I found myself laying under a tree trying to OBE. I did not actually have an OBE, since my alarm went off for work, but it was a bit strange when I awoke it felt like I had been trying for real.

HI guys! I don't mind at all Gbob  :-) . Anyway today i had something happen in my dream, but i am not sure what it was. I fell a sleep at night as usuall around midnight, and i started dreaming, and you know how it goes in normal dreams you just see something, but you can't affect what is happeing. But today i could acctualy affect everything! Like someone on this thread told me to count my fingers every while and that it will help me go lucid while dreaming. And so i do it every day and it seems that i am getting some results! I dreamt that i am in a supermarket, and it was a normal dream, but then after a little while i just ''woke up'' in the dream and i could controll my body, i thought i am having a lucid dream so i treid to do something to chekc if i really am. I picked up an apple and threw it at someone, then i started jumping on milk boxes and i could do absolutley anything i wanted! And the best part is that nobody told me anything for doing such things! It was so much fun, one could not believe you could have so much fun in a dream!  :-D And my question is was this a LD? If yes i think i am on a good way to AP!  :-D
