I think that is interesting. I haven't tried various types of breathing like you. I am reminded of buddhist practices that breathing is what sets the body in one state or another.

I have noticed that there is a shift in my breathing when I hit a good F10 state. The breath is more down the back of my throat, it is fuller, and it is a little raspy.  but beyond being a marker for me as to when I really am in F10, I haven't played with breathing. I am curious what others have to say.

I say go with whatever you feel works for you.  Sometimes when I lay down after a long day of work, I find that I have exhale pretty hard in order to help me relax.

However, if I'm already calm, I find that quiet, smooth exhales work best.  The bottom line is that you should be able to adjust depending on your current mindset.  Tweaking your techniques here and there is what it's all about....to tailor them to your current situation.  =)

While trying to reach a trance state, I typically try to control my breath to make it softer and quieter and deeper.  BUT...
