Vibes are usually proportional to my level of awareness. If you can get more vibes, always do it before trying to project or do telekinesis or telepathy.

Actually, it stands for the "Real Time Zone."

For me, the presence or strength of vibrations are NOT what determine the amount of lucidity that I have during the projection.  As I have mentioned many times in my previous posts, I usually don't even feel any noticable vibrations.

For me, the key to having a strong lucid projection is by doing the following:

1) Staying alert, but calm.  As long as my mind is alert, the details of the projection are crystal clear.  Even more clear than waking physical reality.  If you aren't very alert, the details of the experience will start to blend together, and your memory will be almost dreamlike.

2) Take many astral breaths.  When you're out, concentrate on your astral breathing.  The deeper you breath in, the more vivid and strong the experience is (at least for me).  Also, there is usually a calming affect when you breath, and this seems to stabilize the excitement that you usually feel when you're flying around the place!

Hope that helps.

Good tip, - thanks!

Also, I read a bit in Astral Dynamics just now during my lunch hour and I notice that RB recommends glancing at astral hands every few minutes to keep lucidity.  I'll try both of these tips the next time!

And Zeke,

- yes RTZ is Real Time Zone, as mentioned, and in case you're not familiar with that term it's Robert Bruce's term (from his book, Astral Dynamics) for the near-physical environment you are in during an OBE - the environment that seems to replicate all of the stuff you would expect to find in the physical (although with the obvious tendency to morph into different environments).  So when you get out of your body and start running around your house or flying around your neighborhood, you're in the RTZ - as opposed to projecting to an actual astral plane.

Hi RJA
I`ve found the looking at the hands tip to be very helpful. It tends to stabilize the whole experience for me and in particular it seems to help with vision which at times I have trouble with.
When I move from the RTZ to the astral I place an intent and then stimulate my primairy centers using NEW techniques. That often produces a second round of vibrations, often more intense than on exit.Of course things never seem to go according to any set plan and I find I`m always improvising as I go.Each experience is different and I try to stay in a state of passive receptivity to adjust to varying conditions.
I don`t think I`m even aware of breathing but I`m going to try it next time I get out. Thanks Jeff!

Happy Trails

I've had 6-8 OBEs now, - all RTZ projections, but I notice that I typically don't feel much in they way of vibes.  I tend to wake up with very subtle vibes going on and am able to then get out of my body.  But I've been wondering if I should be trying to get stronger vibes, figuring I might be more lucid once out of my body if I go the vibes going stronger before exiting.  Friday night was better - woke up with vibes in forehead area and they were "mild" which is a step up for me - and I was able to get out.

But then last night I woke up with buzzing sound and stronger vibes in my lower back - but I didn't even recognize the signs!  Not being quite awake I thought there was a bee crawling on my back and I spent several minutes trying to make it go away (so I wouldn't get stung)!  Finally after a few minutes it struck me "hey, - these are vibes!"  and I tried to go with it, but the window of opportunity was lost because the vibes were already fading away.
