Quote from: fliesatniteI highly recommend them, if you do a search on Dan Millman, he has a website about his books.  They are interesting and insightful, and very much in line with your post.  Which is what made me think of him.

I'll check them out when I'll have more time.

Fliesatnite,

What is interesting about reincarnation are the Indigo Children ( I think that's what they are called). Children that are able to describe everything that happened in their past life, talents, loves, work up until their death.

How much farther do we've to look for proof?

Some people accept re-incarnation as naturally as breathing, where as other people, no matter how much 'proof' they are shown will never have enough to convince them that there is any validity to re-incarnation, astral traveling, OBE's, NDE's, any thing beyond what they can't touch.

I haven't been to this forum in quite awhile, and this is one of my first few posts hopefully among many.

In my fourteenth year of existence I found my way towards the subject of astral projection while in another forum about dreaming and was one among the "projections are merely hallucinations akin to dreaming" crowd.  I tried one method recommended to me and one morning to my surprise I experienced the fabled vibrations so much talked about in Bruce's treatise and book and almost immediately afterward developed my astral sight.  Needless to say, this took me quite off guard and threw my entire outlook on life completely upside down.  Prior to this I was quite depressed, and felt no ultimate meaning or truth developing in my life...  Afterward I read all I could on the subject, virtually consuming the knowledge in his book as fast as I could, trying to recreate that amazing state...  I felt so close numerous times...  I could recreate the trance state at will, developed my  chakras, and was meditating daily...  Sadly, soon after I fell into the pit of drug abuse (marijuana) he so warned about in his book and shot all the previous progress I had made in the matter.

I fell yet again into the abysmal depression I had experienced as a younger man for another two years until we come up to a time very recent.  I began meditating again quite frequently, trying to fulfill the Buddhist principles of good karma (action) and benevolent love and compassion for all life in it's many forms, and I began feeling very good about life.   Sobriety and happiness were not synonymous until now and I felt a very real and tangible sense of exuberance and purpose permeating my being...

And oddly enough, as this developed, I was anxious to try a new drug, a new panacea, much like the one that had before sent me down that dark slope of passive Nihilism and mental decay.  Salvia Divinorum I somehow thought would give me an even greater perspective and scope on life in all it's intricacies and beauty.  I had acquired this substance after much anticipation on my part and much irritation on the part of my sibling having to find it for me.   It engendered inside a state of pure confusion and fear, in great contrast to the near-bliss and contented state I had felt a few hours earlier.  The next day felt much the same and there was a lot of pain and sadness, almost to the point of tears...  After a lengthy debate, almost a self-dialogue of sorts with a friend of mine, I decided to cast away my fetters and give up drugs altogether in order for my more spiritual nature to be cultivated.

How this has anything to do with OBEs and love, compassion, and spirituality is up to you guys, somehow it just flooded out and needed to be said to some soul out there in cyberspace.

------

I had found that the ultimate truth, the ultimate happiness, the ultimate panacea could only be found within.

Berserk_Exodus,

First off, let me say welcome back!  Hopefully you will share with us your perspectives on Astral Travels as well as your journey through this place we call life.

Thank you for sharing with us what you already have.  I believe it says quite a bit about a person to share something so personal, as your trials and tribulations.  Much less to admit to it to cyberspace for all to opine about.  With such a reflection about yourself you must be aware that drugs are, although for some recreational and for others, well, just a down right bad habit.

We all have can have burdens with such things, whether it be marijuana, or cocaine, to nicotine and alcohol.  Tempting as they are, experimental as we are, well... it's just a combination some of us, myself included, cannot pass up the opportunity to explore.  I'm a beer person myself. Glad to know that you've come to the conclusion that it only brings about depression and anxieties.  Recognizing that fact is, in itself HUGE!

I hope that this forum renews your interest in astral travel among other things and is a whole new wonderful spiritual journey for you.  So, like I mentioned (pun intended) Welcome Back!

Good deal on understanding the importance of drugs and how it effects your ability to project. I stated in my faqs on my web site about Drugs:

Do you take drugs, drink, medication to produce the oobe?

No! – Any kinda of chemical that one consumes to alter their consciousness can produce a oobe. It takes great amount of energy to control, focus, and sustain the level of awareness when exiting the body and exploring the astral worlds. Drugs will just slow your reaction time, cloud your memory, and present inaccurate visions. Not also to mention that it effects your physical body which is not good for intake.

Now, I know there are cults, practices, religious ceremonies that use peyote, marijuana and other hulligenics. If its part of their practice, worship and for the grace of God to connect. Okay - can't argue it, but if its just to get oblivated and try to induce a obe - not good.

Going back 1/1/2005 I decided to stop drinking alcohol and to present I haven't touched beer, whiskey. It has definitely made a difference and impact on projecting. My mind is much clearer, don't need the drug to change my consciousness. Its at the best when you're OBE and astral traveling enjoying and absorbing every second of detail. To me - that is Gods gift and its better then any drug made in physical substance.

Keep up the excellent work!

Hah, thanks for the support guys...  That's one of the things I love about the internet, it connects human experiences from all around and one doesn't seem as nearly alone as one might feel without it.

I strive to be real to myself and others; the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I think there are many, many more possibilities contained within the human mind alone than what some believe must expressed through external sources...   I'd have to say the most amazing thing about that story to me was the fact that I had a direct and tangible result of one's action (karma) in it's most concrete form.

But, I feel quite good, my dream recall is finally starting to recover as a result.

Berserk_Exodus,

I think your on the right path and good to see. Just be thankful to God that you caught this at a early age vs. later in life. Some people don't ever get that gift.
