Have you ever heard of a walk-in?

I heard walk-ins happen when a person who is alive allows a spirit to permentaily take possession of their body so their spirit can leave their old body behind for good.Is this true?And does it really work this way or is this just a myth?

Wouldn't it be cool if two (or more) people could trade bodies for a day? I think there's a similar thread to this somewhere on these forums.
