Hi,

complete beginner alert!

I've started reading a book called "Mastering Astral Projection" by Robert Bruce/Brian Mercer. It details a 90 plan for reaching a point where you can project astrally. I was just wondering whether I could get some feedback about the techniques given in this book and whether they are a good start for novice like me.

The exercises I (should!) do each day consist of a full body relaxation, meditating on the breath and body awareness exercises (perceiving sensations in the body). I also repeat morning and evening affirmations and have started to keep a dream journal.

Not having any prior experience in trying to project, I'm just looking for some reassurance that doing the above activities is a good way for a beginner to proceed. I also suspect the 90 day timeline is a bit ambitious  :-D

(sorry if I've posted this in the wrong forum)

It is impossible to say whether the exercises in that book would be a good start for a novice like you. Everybody is different. Some folks fall out of their physical bodies while walking in the garden, others take YEARS to reach the mind awake/body asleep state...

You might be able to skip all but the trance stuff in that book and still succesfully project, because reaching a trance state of some sort seems to be a given state that most souls have to consiously reach in order to consistantly project.

However, I have read that book and have found it very helpful indeed. It IS one of many good starting points for a novice... (heck I am still a novice myself ).

I would suggest you read the work of a few other authors as well though, simply because of the very subjective nature of these types of experiences.

Thanks for the response interception. Just the reassurance I needed  :-)

There are two sections in these forums you should look in to as well: Astral FAQ and Permanent Astral Topics. They detail many techniques as well as experiences by various members of the forum.
Reality is what you perceive it to be.
