Hi all

I don't post much but I do lurk the forums at times and have picked up some good info, enabling me to have experiences like the following.
I was hoping someone may be able to help me better understand what's going on. Here's what happened

There have been a few times when I was meditating where I began to feel an immense pressure in my head accompanied by a loud, distorted noise. In my visual field was what could be described as a spinning vortex that I felt drawn to. Feeling that there is something on the other side of the vortex, I desired to pass through. It would begin to circle faster and faster, and one time I made it through. I was transported to some sort of black room with a few geometric shapes surrounding me. I got way too excited and lost the connection.

Today I got to this spinning vortex/head pressure state but was a bit more relaxed about it. I decided not to attempt to pass through the vortex, but began to look around. I was in the same room I began this experience in, in the same position, but patterns were dancing on the walls (much like a trip). This time another unique thing happened - the distorted noise was replaced with a drill sound (EXACTLY like a drill). I was in this state for what felt like a few minutes and lost connection.

Has anybody had a similar experience? I have no idea how to navigate this headspace and would like to have the opportunity to explore the area, but for whatever reason, the experience ends rather quickly and time doesn't permit exploration. Any hints on how to stay connected, longer?

just practice mate. what techniques do you use? I want to meditate and experience some cool stuff. do you just sit there and look at the background with an empty mind until you start visualizing?

We shall, as always, do our best to help guide you.  :)

You phased.
You projected.  :)

Had you remained calm, you could have placed your intent to go or do whatever you wanted to.  You could have asked for help... a guide... asked a question out loud... whatever you wanted.  But the point you describe, you WERE projecting.

You're doing amazing!  My advice:  Keep doing what you're doing... keep exploring... keep doing what YOU feel is YOU should be doing.

Hints on staying connected?  You need to strengthen your connection to the reality you find yourself experiencing.  You do this by bringing all your senses into the experience as you can... rub your hands together, feel how it feels... the sensation of the skin on your hands... the heat generated.  Walk around, notice things around you in as much detail as you can.  Pick up a branch... a rock... etc... feel it in your hands.  Bring your ENTIRE AWARENESS into the scene through your senses.

I hope that helps.  :)

 Excellent advice as usual Xanth.

I have been to this swirling vortex area many times and find that I MUST just passively observe, no matter how much vertigo I undergo. The vertigo and nausea from it was the hardest part to handle. This was during a time that I was experiencing very intense inner vibrations 24/7.

I had a period of about 3 months last year where I could witness this spiraling vortex, almost immediately, upon closing my eyes for as second. This prompted me to ask many questions here in PMs and also to send an actual email to Tom Campbell.

I received great advice from everyone I spoke to here and from Tom and never had a problem with this again. Now and again I still get visions immediately upon closing my eyes. But now I just passively observe and see where they lead. It just fascinates me when this occurs, especially when it occurs while taking a shower.

I was told by Tom Campbell that I was seeing what I needed to see. That I was ALLOWING this to occur. he called it an "Exploratory New Phase" and said that one day I would outgrow the need for it to be occurring.

This in turn made me hold the highest respect for Tom Campbell. i have written other people that have written books, made videos before, but have never received any reply at all from them. If anything I was told by their webmaster that they were very busy and that I can buy their book or seminar for this or that price.
