How do your OBEs end?

When some people recount their OBE they end it with "then I woke up". You might conclude from this that that OBE happened during sleep. This would make a strong case for those who argue that OBEs and LDs are the same experience. Additionally most people seem to have OBEs at night.

I would like to hear experinces of people who have come out of an OBE directly into waking consciousness and can absolutely rule out the possibility of it being a dream. Tell me in what state you consider you were before it ended.

I believe they are, they just have different levels of awareness. The only time I can say I awaken from a experience is when I have a False Awakening, which again I feel is the same thing as the OBE, Lucid Dreams because they are all related to the Wider Reality or Astral Plane. If your focus is not on the physical, then you are having a non physical experience, no matter what term you wish to use, they are all non physical.

I've had quite a few obe's that I was conscious from exit to re-entry with no break in consciousness and no dreaming. The only way I know to do this is to eliminate visualization practices and focus on physical anchors like sound or thirst.

Then I came around... then I phased back to the physical... came out of it... flipped back... I think I have used in the past.

Most of the time I simply become aware of the nonphysical self and environment simply fading to that of dual consciousness then finally to me awakening back into the physical.

Sometimes but rarely have I had to find my body... these usually come as a result of an experience that has ended badly. I feel this is because I feel threatened, causing fear and with that the fear I won't get back.

A few times they have ended in a violent return like I have been dropped in my body.

Rarely but most wantingly... they end with the culmination of a revelation or ongoing thread of previous visits to the same 'reality'.

When I 'open my eyes' after re-focusing my awareness into my physical (another way of putting it) I almost always feel groggy and ultra relaxed... and more often than not... if the room is dark, I will have an image left superimposed on my field of vision. Like the kind you get when you look at a light and look away. The image is always fading. Once I was sure it was a north american indian with a huge headdress.

Greetings everyone
My OBEs do indeed end with "then I woke up".
OBEs and LDs are both nonphysical experiences. Yet not all OBEs happen during sleep. There are many cases of people reporting OBEs during normal waking consciousness (often during stressful situations). Also most NDEs have an OBE 'component' where people often observe what others are doing and saying nearby even though, in some cases, the NDEer/OBEer is Clinically Dead!. So, IMO these exceptions to the "OBEs occur while sleeping rule" clearly point to the fact that OBEs and LDs are separate experiences.

BTW Bedeekin Good to see you here! The 'old' crowd from astralviewers has scattered into cyber space and I rarely get contact with any of them.

Cheers  :-D

my vision fades to black and i'm in my bed.

i never practice at night and i never fall fully asleep because i am sometimes aware of physical things happening in my room even when i'm away (like my cat jumping on the bed).
be awesome.

Hey Grey! Long time no read!

Same here. I haven't been doing any forums or posting for over a year.
