Hi, I'm sorry if this is not the right place for this question;
I'm new and I need help;
After 2+ minutes I can relax my body completely, and after
30 sec more I can feel warmth and these 'vibrations' (I hope; something
like sweet electro shock in my legs, arms and chest)..
But then my heart start beating veeeery fast..; and I don't know what to do next..
Because of that heartbeat I usualy must relax again..
Can anyone help me?  :-)

Its not your heart beating, its your heart chakra. I would recomend to just ignore it or try meditating on that chakra during the day. I know it can be hard to ignore at times but do your best and eventually you'll get out.

This is VERY common. You were feeling the vibrations associated with an OBE, and the rapid heartbeat is normal at first. This happened to me a lot in the early stages. If your getting that far, you're doing something right. I would just keep practicing as you have and after a while you'll get used to the sensations and they won't be so overwhelming.

Practice, practice, practice...

Good Luck!

PS- vibrations are common, yet not necessary to OBE

Hi NoMoreLies

Wow!  After two minutes, you can relax your body completely???  Are you sure?  It takes normally 45-60 minutes to be really relaxed, in my opinion.

I sense your "sweet electro shocks" are relaxation sensations actually.  And your heartbeat is your real heartbeat, contrary to what has been said.  I think you are getting excited/anticipatory/fluttery and your heart is responding likewise which is why you are having to start all over again.

I may be "old school" but I simply cannot believe that you can be "that" relaxed in 2 and a half minutes.

It might feel like it, because you've never been that relaxed before.  Be patient and turn inwards, enjoying the feeling of simply "being".  After 45 minutes or so, you'll be so far away from yourself, you'll be embarrassed with your first post... (imo)

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

I have to agree on that. I had the same issues at first where I wasn't even used to a slight trance state and my hearth would start pumping. Let alone vibrations and all

Thank you all  :-)

I guess You're right..

Perhaps You are right again, but I actually have no idea how to be more relaxed;
I don't feel my hands and legs or I feel some kind of (I must consult my vocabulary now)
haughtiness..  :-)
Anyway I'll try to be patient..

Do You think my heart is beating so fast all the time and now
I'm only becoming aware of this?
because I'm not getting excited/../.. Actually, I'm getting excited after I feel my "rapid" heartbeat..

Thanks again.

I have the same problem. I try to control my breathing with deliberate, slow controlled breaths and that seems to help.

Im with Sarah on this and found jub jub's advice works very well especially when combined with alternate nostril breathing (nadi sodhana pranayama) before your attempt.

I think the internal heart sensation is fairly overrated in significance. At least I experienced similar sensations only a couple of times and only while being already out (although still close to the body) or while sitting in deep meditation.

It probably happens when the thalamus is about to cut off the brain from the motory system but the process becomes prolonged for some reason. Otherwise you just get a throb like pressure that you may sleep through anyway and its pretty much done.

The sudden increase of heart rate, on the other hand, is a real pain at the beginning. It may come hand in hand with episodes of catching yourself not breathing at all usually followed by one or two irregular breaths.

I'm fairly sure that these sensations and symptoms are due to a purification process of some sort that one has to pass through in order to get the ability to fall asleep consciously. This is how the nervous system rebalances itself.

Involuntary jerks, for example, seem to be related to the descending energetic channels of the front and problems start to appear when one dicovers the role of these channels in relation with breathing in putting the body into sleep.

The actual rapid heart beat involves the temporal imbalance of the sympathetic and parasymphatetic nervous system. This system manifest in the body as thrusting channels (also called ida and pingala). One needs to balance these vessels at first to access the consciousness of the energy body in the abdomen. There are many variations of nadi sodhana, my favorite is the buddhists 9 round breathing and sivananda's kundalini pranayama.

Forget about theory, forget everything. Just express your intent, relax, and let the purification process unfold. Center yourself in your abdomen then supress your thoughts by observing your breathing and the whole of your body. Gently reaffirm your goal every time you catch yourself drifting off. That's all. If you do this every day for 2 weeks after 4-6 hours of sleep and sufficient wakefullness, you will inevitably succeed both in purification and having your first full-blown OBE.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I got a little scared at first, but then I remembered reading that its a pretty common thing, and I just let it happen and it turned out okay. Next time it happens just remember that its not anything serious thats going to harm you and you should be able to talk your way through it in your mind.

Thanks for asking this, NoMoreLies.  This was a question that I don't think I asked in the past.

I actually notice it myself every time I reach Focus 10 and since I'm a projection newbie, it freaked me out as well.

Every night it seems (when I'm going to sleep), I fall asleep and then wake up slightly, enough for me to be conscious.  I'll notice after a short time that my heartrate changes drastically and I start slipping into what I believe to be Focus 10.  I at times feel slight vibrations and experience Rapid Eye Movement.

Last night though, was the first night I ignored the high heartrate.  I had progress but I don't believe it was full progress.  It seems whenever I try to project, my eyes open themselves.  I believe they're my physical eyes because I see what's directly in front of me and try to change that view but fail.  Here I go...on one of my rants so I'll just quit while I'm ahead.  :-D
