Hi-  I stumbled onto an obe thread at a paranormal forum (just playing, not looking for anything in particular) and my jaw dropped when I started reading and relating to experiences that people were having.  I joined this forum tonight because I would really like to share some occurrences that I've had and would really, really appreciate if someone will take the time to read this and provide any feedback as to what is going on.  I apologize if this is long and these are the same old questions repeatedly asked but I am totally lost and don't know where to begin to figure out what,if anything, this is and if someone could point me it the right direction..... OK..here goes..
When I was 20 or 21 years old, I had the most intense dream.  I felt like I was running from someone, and began to climb a wall made of stones (like in Ireland or Scotland) with the moss growing in between.  I could even smell the dampness on the stones, feel how cold they were, and how slippery.  I woke up in a sweat and to this day swear this was my BEST DREAM EVER, yet I have no idea why.  It was like I had a "rush" for days afterward, and I couldn't get this dream out of my head.
A few years later, I had fallen asleep on the couch or was drifting off, I'm not really sure, but was startled awake by what sounded like a train running through my living room and felt the vibration of it, as well. My cat, who was laying on my abdomen, just stared at me, like he had been watching something going on all along.  It was very odd.
About 5 or 6 years after that, I worked the night shift (11pm to 7 am) as an RN.  I'd go lay down around 5 or 6 pm before I had to get ready to go into work.  Over a period of maybe a month, something would happen during these naps.  Until now, the thought of OBE hadn't occurred to me.  After drifting off and close to sleep, I'd feel vibrations from the top of my head traveling down to my feet and back up again.  I'd also feel the sleep paralysis, and hear a loud buzzing.  The really weird thing is, as I'm laying on my side with my legs bent, I feel this vibration going down my back and the sensation felt like someone was physically using one of those giant homedics massagers, because when it started over my hips, the force was actually causing me to feel the bones of my knees shift away from each other, while the skin was stuck together.  Does that make sense?  Anyway, at the foot of my bed is a double closet with mirrored doors.  And after trying to pry my eyes open for what seemed to be an eternity, I saw the image of a man I didn't know in the mirror.  (shirtless....I didn't see if he was wearing pants, but I know he wasn't wearing a shirt).  But it wasn't his FULL image, it was only half, like the wooden trim of the closet cut right down the middle-  1/2 of him showing up in the mirror, the other half I guess on the other side.  Like if you were to put the edge of a mirror aligned with your nose, you'd only see half of your face in the reflection, the mirror wouldn't reflect the other half since it's out of view.  OK.  Now, deep breath, I bought this house off my parents when they divorced.  It's the house I grew up in, I'm the youngest of 6 girls.  My mother, my sisters and I have always felt our house was haunted.  My dad thought we were full of bologna.  So needless to say, when I told my sisters of these experiences we thought I was being massaged by a ghost.  I know, it's silly.  But like I said, the possibility that these might be OBE's never occurred to me.
Now let me jump back, I don't know if this is a connection to all of this or even if there IS any significance to all of this, but when I was about 5 years old my family went on vacation to Myrtle Beach, S.C. (I live in Pittsburgh, PA).  While walking on the beach at night I got separated from my family and ran up and down that beach for what seemed like hours, crying and screaming.  Suddenly, as if out of nowhere, there was a woman wearing all white surrounded by children playing, oblivious to me.  Looking back years later, I came to the realization that the woman I remember seeing looked alot like me as I got older.  I mean, the way I look as an adult and the what I remember her looking like are awfully similar. She said, "You're going to be OK", and before I knew it one of the volunteers helping to look for me picked me up from behind and took me to my mother, family, and everyone else that had been searching for me.  I haven't told very many people about the woman or children that I saw, but one friend I did tell said she thinks the kids were all children who had died on that beach over the years, and maybe the woman, too.  I had a reading done by a psychic a couple of years ago and she thinks it was a spirit guide and she brought the children along so I could identify with them and wouldn't be afraid of her?   I know it seems towards the end Here I went a little off course, but I would like to know if anyone sees a connection, anything, anythoughts would be welcomed.   So, If you've read this far, thank you.  And what do I do from here?  Thanks again.

Hi-
Hy Abbbbbby. (Sorry, couldn't resist).  :-)

No ideas about that, except maybe you were having someone else's good experience and felt their happiness.  Or recalled a past life experience and it was a happy time.

The train sound could be separation sounds, maybe you were coming back from an OBE.  Cats are very energy-perceptive.  Mine used to jump on my body when I did energy work.  One of them likes to jump on whatever chakra I'm working on, showing that she can tell what I'm putting my attention on.  (Or used to, she's too grown up for silly stuff like that now).

Believe it or not, yes.  These are all classic separation symptoms.  Sometimes your energy body does something different than your physical body and you get input from both at the same time, causing sensations like you describe.

I suppose it could be a ghost, but that should be researchable (who lived there before, did anyone die there?)  I tend to think this may be an aspect of yourself or even a guide.  Of course all of those could be possible.

I tend to think that it was your Higher Self giving you an opportunity to know you had a future.  But of course, this is all speculation.

I read your thread and found your experiences very interesting, but I'm a little confused as to what you're asking. Maybe you could narrow it down a little?

It sounds like you might be a little more receptive to non-physical experiences than some. It's not like those things don't happen to others, but they don't necessarily notice them as well as others. Consider yourself lucky. But I'm sure you know that because you got rescued by a GHOST! lol :)

RJA

Well, the buzzing and vibrating are evidence that your consciousness has shifted so that you are ready to leave your body - but haven't left it yet.  When you feel those vibrations or buzzing, calmly focus on them and imagine them getting stronger and moving up and down your body - then do one of a variety of techniques to seperate your astral body from your physical body.  What works for me is rolling sideways out of my physical body, or else sitting up and then stepping out of my body.

As for the train driving though your house - those were especially strong vibrations.  When I first starting trying Astral Projection, the first time I got vibrations were like that - the impression I got was of a semi-truck driving through my body!  For some reason, after that I never experienced anything that strong again.  That first time I wasn't able to seperate from my body, but in later attempts I got more moderate vibrations and was able to seperate.  is it possible to get vibes that are too strong?

As for buzzing, - every once in a while I'll have a dream that involves buzzing of some sort.  In reality these are vibrations that I have somehow incorporated into my dream and now if I get them I try to wake up and seperate from my body.  For example, once I had a dream where there were a bunch of bees buzzing around my head and neck and in the dream I was trying to get away from them.  I woke up and in that place between dreaming and being awake I finally realized that the buzzing was in fact vibrations all around the back of my head and neck - but they were fading and that time I wasn't able to capitalize on them.

As for the guy in the mirror, not sure, but presumably you were in a state where you had astral vision, but hadn't seperated from your body.

As for ghosts, I don't really believe in ghosts per se.  But rather I'm sure that sentient beings exist in all manner of forms but we are typically unaware of their existence because our senses and/or vibrational state is not atuned to theirs.  So, in that sense, reports of people seeing ghosts are merely instances where the person was able to tune in to something that was already there.  Imagine a radio - there are a lot of stations broadcasting in a city, but a radio only gets one of them at a time.  and moving the tuning dial causes the radio to move between stations and then pick up another.  By moving the radio dial you are causing the electrical components in the radio receiver to filter out only radio waves that meet a very specific criteria (freqency) and to pass those on through the other radio components to the speaker.

So, our consciousness is like that.  Our normal waking consciousness delivers to us, through our physical senses, only certain types of energy that fit very narrow and specific specifications.  And we then experience that energy as sight, sound, etc.  Nevertheless, we are awash in all kinds of energy that we are normally completely oblivious to.  But, when we enter into altered states of consciousness either through meditation, dreams, drugs or OBEs, etc.  we are essentially turning our radio tuner to pick up different forms of energy.  And when we pick up these types of energy that we aren't as familiar with, the rest of the components in our radio (brain, soul, ...) interpret it and present it to our consciousness in one form or another - ghosts, UFOs, feelings, angels, beings, visual patterns, voices, sounds, etc.

anyway, that's my .02

Good luck.
