Hello. I've been practicing astal projection for a couple weeks, I can tell I'm almost there because each time I experience more and more symptoms. The most intense were last night, I reached a state of sleep paralysis, a warm wave of energy went through my body, that's when I knew I could start using some visualizing techniques, I always start with the rope technique, a lot of times my body will tingle all over and I will feel a sense of vertigo? Or as if I'm floating. Then I heard this pop noise in one ear, in my research I found that you hear a pop noise when you leave your body. So I stayed calm and just embraced the sensations, but in the end I opened my eyes a little to find that I was still in my body? This happens all the time, I think I'm out when really I'm still there. I just can't seem to disconnect. How will I know for sure that I am out of my body?

If you know for sure that you are out, than you are experiencing a common symptom of first projections called "astral blindness" It's like you are first born and you don't have sight yet. Next time this happen, don't open your eyes. Just yell out demanding clear vision. Don't give your physical body so much attention either.

Thanks for responding, but how will I know for sure that I'm out? Everytime I think it's about to happen I realize it didnt.

astraladdict

You'll know when you are out. there's no other way to describe it

Okay thank you. Do you have any tips on the exit? Anybody? Because I can never seem to get out, I use the rope technique.

astraladdict

Keep with the rope method. it's simple and effective. You are doing well just keep at it

I do "Phasing".
With Phasing you don't have any of those pesky "exit" sensations... you smoothly shift your consciousness from "here" to "there".
By-passes any of those requirements to "exit".  :)

I'll echo astraladdict, just keep at it. You're doing well.

Ryan - I think I just read your ebook on phasing actually. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks :]

It feels like you are not so "physical" anymore, sometimes it comes with floaty feelings.
There was another time before got out, I felt my "body" became a flexible chunk. I could even sense my head with a twisty spiral going!
I'm a guitarist, I love metal music, and I can riff like a crazy machine.

Nicolas Newport's Lucidology 101 methods work best for me.

Nicolas Newport's Lucidology 101 methods work best for me.

Me also.. Don't try exit techniques while symptoms are heavy (vibes etc)..
Wait till they pass and you enter a quiet period post sensations. The sensations
are probably caused by increased energy entering your energetic system.

It is a little hard to describe what it feels like.. you just feel non-physical.. this may feel like a floaty
feeling or an increased awareness on your energetic field beyond your physical
self when you are non-physical.. once your focus is non-physical then you use your exit strategies (of which there are plenty)

Do check out Nicholas Newport though..
