I might have been close to astral projection?

PlasmaAstralProjection

My health has been doing much better from some new medications I am on. So I decided to try some astral projection. I wanted to use my nice blindfold that I had that needed some sowing. So I fixed it and sowed it up. Then I sat up on the couch with the blindfold on and looking into 3D blackness. I started to breathe deep, my heart rate got up. Though that may have been partially since I had a blanket over my head. That was in order to try to block as much light as possible. So I started to really feel like I could have slipped out of body. My head was moving backward ever so slowly, and I was very relaxed. I started seeing images here and there, but I just kept focusing the 3D blackness and feeling of being full. Like in a pool. Then I got some thoughts of dying. And I don't know if it was related to that video I saw that Xanth posted the other day but I wasn't thinking about the video until I got a feeling of dying.

The one thing that was obvious was that I was fully aware the whole time, yet very relaxed. I felt almost like I could have fallen out of my body into the astral backward.

Now mind you this was in the middle of the day, so perhaps I wasn't tired enough for it to work. I will continue to try to astral project though.

Any tips would be great, thanks.

I forgot to mention that I was doing the mental thing in my other thread here about moving my eye's/attention upward. That seemed to help a bit. Also let me note that I felt like I got pretty far doing this but I just couldn't go through all the way and get out of body.

The process of moving towards a good, fairly conscious exit can involve many small steps. It can become recognizably frustrating and slow to a point where you seriously begin to question whether it is actually progressing at all. This is probably a series of tests; I can't fully explain it, you simply have to persevere; keep trying different methods. This teaches us many things.

Middle of the day attempts can introduce its own peculiarities, different from other times.

My best advice at this point is that whatever is presented to you, simply go with it and don't resist anything. Simple resistance is a big, early test. There is the first test, then the other part may be finding your natural inclination to certain energetic pathways. And even when you find a good one, it will change and evolve over time.

If you felt like you could have "fallen out of your body and fallen over backwards" then that was the perfect sensation to have let yourself experience. That would have been a successful exit. You take it however you get it. Just trust that no matter what is going on, you are safe and protected. There are so many possible exit experiences that we cannot explain them all. This is our uniqueness...! This is the wonder of the search! The value of the discovery! Would we have it any other way? Do we want it handed to us like a spoiled dessert?

You are at your own personal edge of Infinity...the next move is yours...

Also, you must begin to think of your Intention...what do you want to do when you are "out"? This is a very significant idea at this point.

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

So it seems like I was on the right path, I just need to continue to practice. It was pretty encouraging that I was able to get so deep into it. Which was unexpected. Thanks for the reply EV.

You do not have to be tired to ap.   As you said you were aware.   It is best not to be tired.    You were very close to ap.   You just had to use your mind to get out of your body.    Believe and know you can do it and it will happen.

Thanks for the encouragement. Soki is encouraging too. And Xanth's dedication is unwavering having taken 10 years to learn to finally project.

10 years, yup.
Sadly, after that point I had realized that I've been doing it my entire life.

Oh man I got so excited today. I went to go and try to astral project for the second time. I did the noticing exercise. And focused on my frontal lobes. I did a few things here and there. Then when I focused more of my attention on my crown chakra I started to feel like my energetic body was moving. I felt like I could just fall out of my body to the left, as I was sitting up. I could see myself doing it. I just couldn't do it, perhaps partially since I got too excited. I got perhaps just as close today as I did yesterday if not more. The day I consciously project will be one of the greatest days in my life. I hope to make it there.  :-D

Wait I know a better way to describe this. I felt like there was multiple ones of my upper self. It's really hard to describe.

Well today I had something strange happen when I tried to astral project. I was doing a visualization where I felt I was going down a elevator. And while I was doing that I swear I saw a light at the bottom of my eyes. Of course my natural reaction was to try to look at it with my physical eyes. Which ended the light. It almost makes me wonder if that the beginnings of astral sight. And also note that I was in complete darkness with my blindfold and being under 3 blankets. I swear everyday it's been something new and interesting in my practice.

You don't have to wait to see patterns in the black behind your eyes. When I put my attention on the black in front of me I can almost instantly see fume patterns, an area that's just a little less black than the other. It really is nothing but it makes me fix my attention, it produces the right consciousness movement. As I kind of watch in front me (I'm just being a little curious, or my physical eyes will try to move) the little paler spots become swirling fume, really almost unnoticeable. But I fix my attention on it. Then I begin seeing flashes of light, as I am not moving my physical eyes. These lights are taking form in my head no need to move the eyes to focus on them. After a while watching them I can begin have images forming in my head and I keep on with the visualisation I let images flow. I use this technique of which Frank spoke to reach further relaxation. It helps me reach the mini-dream stage quicker, but I rely more on visualisation to have an AP. You'll see as you watch those light flashes there will be more and 2 at the time, you can begin to feel dizzy, and feel vibrations or any other thing. Just ignore it, you have to want to go past all that, these sensations are only an obstacle between you and AP if you put your attention on them. Images will begin to form in your head and as you watch them you will feel closer to the scene after each one. Allow yourself to go towards sleep but maintain the images and you won't believe it when you will be back in your body after having phased somewhere. You won't have missed a single moment. One second you're watching those images in your head, lying in your bed (even if you don't think at all about that), and the second after you're standing up somewhere. Just to come back in your bed. And you didn't lose consciousness in the process, you have everything in memory. It's quite impressive! As I said in my other post the only AP I really had like this without missing a single moment was with a low awareness and it only lasted 3 seconds because my physical arm reacted to what I was doing and it pulled me back. I didn't feel a single thing.I was in my bed, then there, then in my bed. Keep working on it!

A little trick to help you not move your eyes: try to put your consciousness back in your head. Your point of consciousness is usually between the eyes but it can move. It allows you to be more disconnected from your physical senses which will neutralize your eyes. And it is the proper consciousness movement to attain a deep state. Practice staying at the center of your head, as if you backed up from your face, inside your head. Then watch the lights they'll come way faster and will stay if you don't move your eyes or get too surprised. Another trick is to look ''past them'' as if you were looking at something behind the light spots. Don't put too much of your attention on them! Good luck!

Luckily I have done quite a bit of meditation so I know what it's like to move my consciousness to the middle of my head and other places. I'll keep trying. In fact I'm gonna go and try right now.

I like the attitude there haha! That's exactly what's good we can see your motivation! Just had another AP if I can say. I was in my bed for the second time trying to AP today (tried a little waking up this morning couldn't do it at all so I won't count 3 times) and I phased in a car it was like an old mustang kind of car. The weirdest thing is I could see myself driving, as if I were in the passenger seat. I wasn't watching the road nor did I see any environment outside the car. We were rolling (me and myself??? lol) and I was looking at me. The ''me'' driving shifted in what would have been the third (if I think about how fast we seemed to be rolling and the fact that ''Driving Me'' shifted upward). It lasted about 5 seconds (a little longer than the last one) and I came back hearing myself snoring. I think I strangled with my saliva and that's what pulled me back. So again there is no memory missing about the experience, I was in my bed, then there, then in my bed. It doesn't feel like ''AP'' since I'm not even aware I'm in my bed trying to AP. I just phase in a scene and play it before coming back to my bed. I have a whole lot of work to do to be able to really experience the astral. A good reason to maybe give it a third try after supper!
