What's the longest you've been OOB and what was your experience (brief description)?

I've been out for like 1-2 hours several (many?) times and when you're out for this long, it seems like the experience will never end.

One Of The Longest And Most Realistic Experiences:

-...I was on this train or that's what I thought. There were several people on, some standing and some sitting. This big dude in front smirked at me, like trying to scare me or something and I smirked back to show that I'm not scared of him. I notice that my clothes that I was wearing was all torn up and dirty-looking. I thought of trying to change it with my mind but realized that it would be a waste of time. The train (?) stopped and all or most of the people got off. I felt like I should get off too, so I did...I walked for awhile, of course not knowing where the hell I was going. I was next to this parked truck when I heard something coming towards me. I looked and saw a truck heading in my direction! I was trapped! It hit me and I slammed into the side of the parked truck. I felt my face dent the truck and felt the impact but without actual pain of course. I was on the ground and I was like crawling underneath the parked truck because another truck was coming! It hit the truck and me (?). I like blacked out and when I awoke, I was kind-of shocked because of how real everything seemed. "I was just killed" is basically what went through my mind at that moment.

Are you sure you werent living a past life, or you were living a parallel life in another dimension and you witnessed it getting killed? Perhaps you were an "observer" since 1.) you felt no pain, and 2.) you had no control over anything (ie. flying, dematerializing the oncoming trucks to save yourself, the inability to change your clothes on the train, et cetera, et cetera..)

Thoughts?

... this also brings up another point as well. The idea of ascension implies that we exist at the same time with other "selves" who are existing parallel to our universe/reality/here-now and they are as much aware of us as we are them. It is interesting you bring up your experience with the train~trucks~dying(?) because I was talking to my wife tonight that I have a feeling that dreams are experiences of perhaps us being the "observers" or temporary walk ins for our other selves. And that Deja Vu, can be explained as a ripple of a memory with subtle details from this reality or another one echoing in our minds. Like for instance, there was a time where I would have Deja Vu almost on a daily basis. It was really chaotic for me and I thought space-time was tearing apart at the seams. That time is gone now and I havent had Deja Vu in a while, but ever since then, I have always had the notion that Deja Vu is what I explained above. It is interesting to note, that with this notion, I wonder what would happen if I was able to communicate with my other interdimensional selves from THIS physicality. I mean if what I am saying about dreams and deja vu is true, then that would suggest they dream about THIS life also. I wonder how strange this world is to them. I also wonder if they are more advanced or less advanced both in technology and evolution as me. With that said, I remember reading in an ascension book that your other selves can and most the time are on a different level of ascension/spiritual awareness/evolution as THIS physical self is. Too bad I cant control what my other selves see/dream. It would be nice to stand in front of a mirror and say "this is a message to one of my other selves, if you are listening please give me a sign that you can hear me.." albeit it, it would probably seem foolish LOL!  :-o

Just thought I would add this little snippet.

Well, I've had several experiences in which I thought I was in some parallel world or something. It was very real and an experience that I won't forget. The impact was incredible and unexpected.

I didn't try to fly, so I can't say that I was unable to. The truck was coming so fast that I didn't even think about dematerializing it. Also, I did say in my description that I thought of changing my clothes but didn't actually attempt to. However, I can't discount the possibility of it being a past life or parallel world.

That would be interesting if one can can control there other self in a parallel world. What do they know, think, feel about this reality and about theirs? There must be a way to communicate, perhaps in the Astral? To exchange information, thoughts, experiences would only be beneficial. If Robert Monroe can control another individuals body (as he claimed in Journeys Out Of The Body), then one must be able to experience what it's like to be there other self in an alternate reality, right?

Th13rteen

Well in the ascension book I am reading apparently there are 12 other selves existing for every soul in existence and they exist independently in parallel universes on their own birth wheel/ascension path etc.
there is an exercise in the book which you can do to call the souls that arent far into evolution into yourself and merge them with yourself. Kind of makes you wonder about death and why it happens. When someone has a heart attack are they one of the souls being called to merge with the main soul? What about infants that die from SIDS? Is that what is happening? I am sure all of this could be explained away by science of course but esoterically and metaphysically speaking this seems like a possibility. I still need more information and the validity of what I am reading in the book is of course, subjective at best. What about walk-in spirits? Wouldnt it be interesting to be a walk-in for one of your other selves existing in another dimension? This might be dangerous though, you certainly dont want to walk into the body of one of your selves that might be living a lifestyle that wasnt appealing. I think Robert Monroe spoke about "other selves" in "Ultimate Journey" when he would say mention his "I-There". Interesting stuff.

In the interview of Thomas Campbell, author of My Big TOE, he answers the same question and says about 6-8 hours.
(someone posted the youtube link here on AP, can't find it right now)

Imagine staying perpetually conscious and your brain never taking a break.

Doesn't the brain need sleep to process taking in the 18-20 hours of information during waking hours?

I guess if you're either awake or OBE, you're in a different class than most people.

I agree with your thoughts about some dreams being actual experiences in an alternate or parallel universe(s).

Let me give you my own angle on that idea.
Some dreams are actually complex thought forms (Robert Monroe used the term "rotes") that are shared by other people (physical or discarnate) from another universe. When you have such a dream then you are "reading" the rote that another person shared from his/her alternate/parallel universe.
This simplifies the process of experiencing such an alternate universe Because you do not have to actually be in that alternate universe, your consciousness does not even need to leave your physical body. Instead the dream/rote/information is passed/shared with you (via some, as yet to be explained, information network).

I have had Many of these types of dreams. They are not ordinary dreams yet are Not (for me atleast) really OBEs.
