Has anyone looked into a mirror while you were out of your body?

Lexy

I've looked in mirrors in lucid dreams, it looks like me with crazy hair
"Life is only a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves."

In my very first projection I saw myself in the mirror beside my bed. Looked just like me with a huge excited smile on my face.

First time I saw my reflection in a LD my face looked like a neanderthal. Over time it's slowly been getting more and more evolved looking. I pretty much look like me now but with stuble on my nose lol.

In a False Awakening OBE/LD I saw a woman/girl. The same one I saw in a dream before, so she's recurring. I consider her a past life.

In dreams I also see a younger self of me quite often in mirrors and/or reflections.

I looked in big mirror outside the bedroom on my second experience. I looked like wendy out of peterpan floating in the air kicking my legs and feet trying to stop myself floating up to the ceiling by holding on the bannister. I was in my p. jams and looked like my reflection but in the background i could also see me standing in front of the mirror in my dungarees ?( only my legs tho, didn't look up further for some reason)  so i saw 2 me's. ???

I used to be all deformed at the beginning. Now my reflection is better:

This was inspired by one of my experiences. After I looked at myself I decided to sink into the mirror. On the other side I found myself in a huge bubble and this little girl was crying in the middle. I asked her what's the matter and she told me a witch put her there. I picked her up (she was weightless) and told her I'd help. I found that the only way out was by flying up. She seemed shocked at the fact that I could fly. We then travelled through a dark void and ended up in a canteen where a 'dinner lady' was please to see the girl. The girl thanked me and I regained physical awareness. It was weird but I felt as though I really helped someone somehow.

Thus, I drew this picture to sum up what had happened and what I looked like. I'm surprised the little girl wasn't scared of me...unless, of course, by that time I had morphed into something more decent or the girl had her own way of seeing me.

Looking into a mirror whilst projecting is not a preferred thing to do. If you look into a mirror while projecting than your leave the realm and enter a fake realm. Think of it like this, the RTZ is a copy of the world you see now. When you look into a mirror while projecting you'll enter a copy of the realm.

I looked at my face in my bathroom mirror while projecting. My face was a bit distorted but still looked realistic. I remember checking for certain blemishes expecting to find some grotesque abnormality hanging from my face but I was clear skinned.

The last mirror I saw... I couldn't raise my head up completely, so I only saw my feet.
But they were clear and as real as now.

The astral is an energetic realm which may or may not be symbolic.  So to label a realm 'fake' is... well, subjective.
If you're in the RTZ you can use a mirror (or a doorway, or a window) as a gateway to the astral, or can be bounced off to a more 'far off' place in the RTZ.
I do see why going into a mirror may put you in your own subconscious realm (or getting you into the mental plane), but I wouldn't call it 'fake'- there is no 'fake' in the nonphysical, IMO.

last time i looked in a mirror whilst OBE i had my eyes close which made me chuckle
because i could still see ,also had a nice tan and a nice hair cut,

I looked into a mirror while APing for the first time. I saw what appeared to be no reflection at all. I do see one now though but my first time nothing was there it was really strange!

Perhaps your first experience was a Mode 1 OOBE, AstralBlogger, especially if no anomalies were detected elsewhere.

personalreality

I always looked like myself.  Never anything weird.

be awesome.

I posted this in my thread, but nobody had anything to really say about it but

ive jumped through mirrors in my home, for example I have a decent sized hallway and at the end of it is a mirror, when I was lucid once i took a running start and jumped into it and experienced a very brief falling motion and could really see anything and then was thrown right out of the mirror to the start of the hallway.

anyone know why that would happen?

and in dreams where im not lucid and im looking in a mirror i never think anythings wrong, but ive had a few instances where i was lucid and there would be times id look in the mirror and not see anything and other times id see my reflection.

Summerlander

I too have a decently sized mirror at my house. When I project and find myself in my "astral abode", which is almost always a slightly inaccurate replica of my house, I tend to use the mirror as a portal. I can see what you've just described taking place in a metaphysical environment but that's never happened to me with my mirror.

NickisDank

What do u mean by metaphysical and why do u think that would happen.

Jilt

Whenever I look in a mirror I look just like me but the eyes are weird/not quite right. However one time I looked quite a bit younger which was excellent!

My new thing now is to look down at what I'm wearing when I'm in F3 because it's usually some classical garment (long flowing dress or belted toga) which I find fascinating. I don't know who is dressing me in the astral but I approve!

I tend to use the term "metaphysical realm" to describe what most call "astral plane". Weird things happen there because it is the realm of thoughts. It is more mental in nature and many of the rules that we are so used to during our waking state don't necessarily apply.

i see i see i didnt know they were the same term. thank you

what do you refer to the higher realms to? the higher planes or what?

Summerlander

You see, that's the thing. To me there are no higher or lower...just different modes of experience in infinity, just data as Campbell puts it and you are free to interpret it your own way. I would agree that some experiences are more abstract or far removed from earthly conceptuality, but I wouldn't say they happen in higher planes...perhaps different states of mind that we can focus on whilst our intrinsic awareness, deep down, is originally pristine.

I just wanted to point out that many APers or theorists consider the 'high/low' spectrum as a spectrum of what's farther away from physical reality- think of it as psychological distance.
So the "lowest" realm/dimension/plane/Focus level will be what's closest to concreteness, and it goes out, away in gradations, so that the etheric is mostly like the physical, the astral has elements of physical reality but more subjective and mythologically 'populated', the mental may use shapes from nature and symbology but usually consists of conceptual information that is difficult to describe, and so on and so forth.

And yes, I agree that experiences don't always have a specific sequence assigned to it, and often combine characteristics of many different levels/foci, such as having a mental projection in the etheric, for example.

Cheers.
