I managed a complete OBE the second and third times that I ever tried it. This was when I was younger (About 17 years old. I am 30 now) and it seemed very easy to me then. They scared me so bad that I didn't try to do again, until recently. Some people have them without trying at all.

There are different types of vibrations. The ones where I have had the easiest time leaving my body, where the very intense ones that were focussed in my head/base of the neck. They seem to come on quite suddenly and can be a little shocking. Or, it may be that most active chakra is either your crown or third eye (Mine are my hands, which are supposed to be minor chakras. Go figure). You can stimulate energy flow by stroking the various parts of yourself that you wish to stimulate. Remember what the sensation feels like and then imagine that you are feeling this sensation in all of the places at once (I think that is a very rough interpretation of Robert Bruce's energy stimulation methods).

Hope this helps.

I don't really know what would be considers average learning progress.  I do know however that there is a lot of variation there.  Some people seem to make very good, steady progress and have some success within a month, while others appear to move very slowly in their progress.

it might take me 10 years to have a full blown astral projection.

I thought i'm a quick learner too. Turns out it's not like usual the learning process. It's been 2 weeks for me. The very first attempt i got that sleep paralysis, all those hypnagogic phase and all. 5 hours of trying. Nada OBE.  :-D

Is being too optimistic, too excited, too observant, too hoping, too confident, too aware is the problem? i'm beginning to see that it is one of the cause. My advise, find a way to relax. I'm too trying, maybe too hard i think.  :-D :-D

It may gone up to 10 years i guess. Or maybe until you give up. Then suddenly it pops. who knows.  :-P :-P

Good luck to us, Cheers!

Hi Slipknot,
please don't compare your progress with others. Things unfold for us in their own time, when you are ready for them. Timing is everything.

You might like to try some simplified methods for direct experience, so you may like to look at the ones on my site. They have worked for the majority of people over the past ten years I have been teaching them. by the way, it is free.

I think that learning to astral travel while awake is okay for a while, but, we can waste years of effort to do this. So I much prefer to journey in higher awareness levels, as you will not be restricted to the astral only.

Love Always,
