Well finally this morning after a pretty long time of not having an OBE I had one  :-D

This morning started like my normal day. My alarm goes off at 7:15am I breifly wake up so I can hit the snooze button and then I roll back over and fall asleep for 5 minutes until the alarm goes off again.
But this morning after I hit the snooze button I laid back down and heard vibrations in my head that I get that I never thought was related to the OBE vibrations, but now I think they are because after I heard them I remember laying on my stomach on the carpet floor in my room and I was able to feel the carpet in my hands. Then I was laying back in bed and remembered "hey I was just laying on the floor?"
Refer to this thread for the vibration sounds

So now I think about laying there again and feeling the carpet in my hands and very soon I was laying there again. I quickly reached for the door and opened it and walked out. I went down the hall and in to the living room. I was looking around and thinking of what to do. I was trying to think of any goals I had thought of previously that I would try when I was OOB, but nothing came to mind. Then I thought about the playing card on top of the shelf for verification, but I decided not too because I feel like I waste my experience doing that because I've done it so many times now. So I float over to the front window of my house and float through it and outside.
Outside wasn't warm or cold, I don't know what I was wearing. It was early morning looked about 7am and I just flew around my front yard for a few moments and then up and over my house. Then I flew down the road until I got to the main street. I was floating about 50 feet in the air and looking down at the ground I passed over 2 parked cars on my street just taking my time and observing what I was seeing. I got to the end of my road where it hits the main street and my friends house is right there. I stopped in front of his house and floated down. I saw his neighbor moving around in the garage, but I didn't go over I just stood in front of my friends house in the middle of the street. I again thought about what I should do. I looked up in the sky and it was blue with some small clouds. I thought about traveling to space and that's what I decided to try and do. I always read stories about people flying uncontrollably fast into space, but whenever i try and go to space I just float up very slowly. And my ttechnique is to swim, it's the easiest way for me to get around while floating. I only got up to about the top of the tree in his front yard and then the experience ended and I was back in bed.

So now I need to think of something that I can try while OOB next time

Wow, that's a great experience. Hope I have one that vivid and realistic soon. Did anything seem out of the ordinary? Why did you open the door instead of just going through it?

Well, the shelf that that card was on top of in the living room. That shelf isn't there anymore since we just had our kitchen redone. I didn't bother to look at the kitchen so I don't know if it was my old kitchen or my new one.
The 2 cars that were parked on the street I don't know whos they were or why they were there.
That's about it.

And opening the door just makes it easier lol. I was actually really surprised I was able to float through the window because I have tried to fly through that windows probably 5 times with no luck and that was the first time I was able to do it.

Flying too slow and not being able to go past a certain height is something that has troubled me also. My theory is that it's due to our attachments to physical thinking. Birds don't fly very fast = in my mind, I can't fly very fast. The tallest building in sight is representative of the highest possible point I can reach in the physical = I can't go higher than this building.

It's a bit trick to overcome but with some more experience all of these self-imposed limitation can dissolve.

justin, could you try to investigate the astral body? How does it feel? Do you have teeth, ears, nose, hair? Clothes?

Can you close your eyes?

If you turn up-side-down with eyes closed, can you still feel what is up and down, meaning you can feel gravity?

Yes, I think you're right AlanRK just need to overcome my physical ways of thinking.

And yeah that seems interesting pauli. I might try that. Or I was thinking of trying to visit this place I have been to a few times in dreams before. Or just to an environment I create myself

I can almost guarantee that it's exactly what you say it is.

I hate to use this analogy, but the Matrix really had it bang on... it's not a matter of believing you can do these things, it's just a matter of DOING them.

Don't believe, KNOW!

I've been reading a book that suggests having a "Necessity" every time you project.  So something in your life that is important and that you would like to find an answer for in the astral.  For beginners they say to use simple things like sex, food, etc., survival type things.  As you progress you would find more developmental necessities, like a specific aspect of spiritual growth or something.  The idea is that the more you project, the more insightful your become into your own nature and more powerful necessities are identified.
be awesome.
