I know it is tempting to think that Pink Floyd did this sync on purpose, but there are some good reasons I can think of that it wasn't:

1. The sync works with CDs. When The Floyd made Dark Side in 1973 not only was there no such thing as a CD, virtually no one on the planet had Video Players. Records and tapes of Dark Side existed only, and the obvious flaw with both of them is that you have to physcially turn them over. Even if you didn't, record players and tape decks rarely play accurately. It only takes a few milliseconds of difference for quite a big difference in synced material to build up over say 20 minutes. The point is, when this record was made, there was no technology available to the public to sync the two together. No one had videos, and even if they had have done, the music formats of the time would have been hopeless for syncing. Nor could they know that digital technology would ever be available to succesfully sync them.

In short, no one would have been able to witness this 'deliberate' syncing at the time, and no hint that they could in the future, what point was there in it then?

It is possible to sync in studios of course, they do this all the time, but here is another point:

2. In all the months that Dark Side was recorded, and in all the years that followed, no one ever mentioned there being Oz up on the screen in the studio while Floyd played. Studios are busy, people are in and out all the time, yet not one mention anywhere of anyone who was present having seen Floyd at work syncing the album up to the movie. Add to that the fact that studios are businesses with everything, every hour of studio time and equipment accounted for, then there would be a written record of what went on somewhere. An engineer, tape operator, tea boy anyone would have spoken about it, no one ever has, yet they have plenty to say about what effects were used, who did this and that, details about the recording, but none mention Oz, except to deny it was synced.

3. Pink Floyd have always denied it themselves, David Gilmour recently said: "It's obviously complete rubbish.  What are people doing with their lives?  I feel a little sad for them.  God!  It's staggering.  but I suppose one should feel complimented."

A little harsh maybe, as they start their own myths by putting backwards messages everywhere, you can hardly blame the public for looking for this kind of stuff when it isn't really there.

If you take any piece of music and dub it without thought onto film you will find parts that seem to match as if they were intended. I have done this many times myself with my own music and been quite surprised at times how several parts can appear to have been deliberatly matched when I know damn well they weren't. I just think the brain likes 'sense' and grasps at anything that appears to make it, so when a word or two happens to occur with an image that fits with them it goes 'bingo'. See enough of them and you start to think it is intentional.

I wandered home through silent streets,
and fell into a fitful sleep, (vibrations)?
escape to realms beyond the night,
dream cant you show me the light,
(serious buzzing musical noise)
ascend a troubled spiral of stair,
a lord of gold confronts me there,
he leads me on light years away,
through Astral lights galactic day,
I see the works of gifted hands,
that graze the strange and wondrous lands,
I see the hand of men arise,
with hungry mind and open eyes,

They left our planets long ago,
the elder race to learn and grow,
their power grows with purpose strong,
to claim the home where they belong,
home to tear the temples down,
home to change!

Next song,

the sleep is still in my eye,
the dream is still in my head,
I heave a sigh and sadly smile,
and lie awhile in bed,
I wish that it might come to pass,
not fade like all my dreams,

just think of what my life might be,
in a world like I have seen,
I don't think I could carry on,
carry on this cold and empty life,
oh no,

my spirit is alone in the dark's of despair,
my life blood spills over,

It is as if he had seen life from a higher perspective in his obe/dream world and longed for it to be real.

Any comments?[:D][:D]

Oh Thank You Great Spirit by Chicago

Pulling myself out of a dead sleep
With the impression of the dream still fresh in my mind
Before I'm even awake, the words, the music were complete

I woke up that mornin'
Feelin' so rested and young
My mind was clear of all the problems
That been hasslin' my head
I couldn't quite understand why
I felt so fine
I felt so free
So beyond it all
As I turned towards the bed
I understood as all came clear

As I turned towards the bed
I understood as all came clear

I saw myself lyin' there
Didn't have a care
Piece of mind was finally mine
Now free to fly
Into the blue sky
Oh great spirit
Fly away
Oh great spirit
Just fly
Fly
Oh fly away

speaking of pink floyd and astral projection-

one night I watched a PF concert on tv-it was just fantastic[8D].

there was one point, when it showed a guy in a hospital bed.he started to 'drive' the hospital bed all over the hospital[:P],then he went onto a runway, and flew it up into the sky[:)].

that morning,I woke up,and the clocks from the song 'time' were going off INSIDE MY BODY! the sounds of the clocks were echoing and bouncing around in me,as if my body was hollow.

then the pitches and speed of the clocks got higher/faster.after a certain point, the pitches got so high I couldn't hear them anymore, and I was buzzing with energy.

then I lifted out of my body, did somersaults around my room, twisted around in the air,and returned to my body.[:)]

the reason pink floyd was so obsessed with outer space is that they astral projected. there are lots of clues that prove this. sometime, if you have time, listen to the albums 'piper at the gates of dawn' and the best one is 'meddle'.
"a movement is accomplished in six stages, and the seventh brings return" - pertaining to the 7 major dimensions, and when the highest is reached, the time barrier is gone.
"and as i rise above the treetops and clouds..."
just listen to a lot of their stuff they are a good band anyways and roger waters is one of the greatest writers ever in rock n roll.
