HI,
I'm not quite sure what forum to post this on.  If you know where I should post this please advise.

This has happened to me in the past few years, but today, it happened to me 5 times in an hour and it is very frightening.
I awake, then I try and fall back to sleep and as I am starting to drift back, I feel this awful presence come up around me (i'm usually laying on my side) I hear scary sounds, like a monster in my ear saying "rrraaarrrr" I know it sounds silly, but this IS what happens. Then I'm paralyzed and scared. I try to move my fingers and it feels like they are wiggling and try with all my strength to move my arms and fight this presence that is holding me down, I can't do anything. Then finally it goes away. When it comes back though, I know it's going to happen, and I try and stop it by trying to get out of bed, but it gets me first before I can move and starts all over again. This last episode though, I felt I couldn't breathe or swallow, so that made me even more scared.
This is different than the  buzzing noise that I would get and felt like I was rocking and got out of body.... this IS a presence that I just really have tried my best to describe and it's scary and I don't know what to do to stop it. Any help would be so appreciated.
Thanks,
Aras

this is called sleep paralysis. google it. I've had it happen to me once, I didn't hear anything, but I couldn't move.

I know it's a kind of sleep paralysis, I'm trying to find out how to stop it from happening.
Thanks though,

it happens because your body gets paralyzed somewhat when it's asleep so you don't hurt yourself while dreaming. sleep paralysis happens when your body thinks it's asleep, but is still kind of awake. about where you need to be to have an OBE.
