Hello guys, i a totally new to this. I was reading R. Bruce's book, astral dynamics. Yesterday I was in a meditative state, got very relaxed and all. I didn't really feel the vibratins as such, although i felt it a litle. Anyhows I suddenly felt as if i was starting to float. I looked at the space above me and saw what looked like my hands and tried to focus to sit up (with great dificulty). I tried to get off my body although  i wasn't sure i was imagining things. It seemed likei was barely a foot away frm my body and I had this incredible pull as if a magnet the size of a house was pulling at me. I tried to get away but i couldn't let  go of ths effect and felt as if i was no going to be able t overcome the pull. I finally gave up and felt myself pulled back to my body and felt the sensation of returning to my body and felt tingles all over my body (rather uncomfortable i may add). i was wondering how you manage to escape your body it seems incredibly difficult to get away from it. Any suggestions.
ps:i don't think i managed to even get away a foot away from myself.

I've had that happen a few times but it's usually not a problem.  In my experience it's easier to move around once I get away from my body.  Grabbing onto something if possible and repeating the phrase "stay out" has helped.   If this happens it's important to be passive and not get freaked out about it, and it may also be helpful to intend on being somewhere else.  Also it would best to try not to worry about this or expect that there will be a magnetic pull again next time, because in the astral you tend to experience what you expect.

Hi Raburu,
Your description of being pulled like a magnet is the best Ive heard for what I experience. And its kind of uncomfortable as well. I think its some sort of frequency/vibration change or "exit sensations" and usually I get visions of tunnels, but so far Ive rarely gotten past these feelings. Ive been trying to will these feelings back now that Ive had them a few times too, which Ive had limited success with. My biggest problem is just relaxing into it...

usually when I make an exit,I either fire myself out of my body like a bullet (thus getting far away from my body, and avoiding the pull),or if I exit near it,I send out a "rope and guide" that is sufficiently far enough away from my body to not be part of the area effected by the pull.

Hi guys, thanks for replying. I haven't tried to do it again but i am going to try it tonight. I also had another strange obe /lucid dream one time. I was trying to get an obe but for some reason I couldn't get one. I had a history of sleep paralysis when I was a kid and that is what kinda got me here. Anyhow, to stay back on track, as i was saying I had been trying for an obe. I would get to the vibrations but I would lose it for some reason, no matter how hard i relaxed. Well, I guess my body gave in and I fell asleep, however even in my sleep i was wondering why i couldn't get an obe. I guess I was having a lucid dream, even though i am not sure coz i have never been a lucid dreamer.  In my dream I saw something that looked like a swing (playground swing), I knew right there that as soon as i touched that swing i would have an obe. And true enough, i started having the vibrations and the tunnel of light, and i started floating but it was very eerie as the room was dark and i felt like i was just maybe a foot above myself.  In this case too, i felt my body pull me back in probably only 12 secs of being out. It was confusing since i didn't know if i was having an obe or if i was dreaming i was having one. Any of you guys ever experienced something like that? I sometimes wonder if it was all in my dreams. I'd like to hear your experiences.

As I recall, the closer you are to your body, the easier it is to get sucked back into it. Likewise, the farther you get away from it, the easier it is to stay out.

I'm 90% sure I read that in AD, but I don't recall which page.
