Permanently Grounded

First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank those (choice few, lol) who sent me a private message in response to my last thread (i.e. "Contemplating Suicide").  FYI: I'm much better now. Every few years since I can remember I go through this phase of negativity and depression only to come out again, thanks for your support and comments from the bottom of my heart!  :-D

My question today is separation. My one and only AP (see : http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_members_introductions/hi_to_all-t45217.0.html) consisted of a unique experience wherein I was simply a point of consciousness with no perceptible 'second body'. My current understanding is that most people undergo a different experience where they feel they still have a "physical" body while OBE'ing. I myself never knew that. So I have no idea what to expect as far as to how "real" that 'second body' actually feels. Is it exactly the same? Also, in MY personal experience I never underwent the process of separation itself consciously : I simply fell 'asleep' and then woke-up OOB. So I have no idea how to do it while 'awake'.

I find that I just DON"T GET the part about conscious separation! Specifically: how DO you go about "having the intent" to "stand up" or "roll over" without physically end-up doing so?  I mean, sometimes I'm in the deepest trance and think to myself, "This is IT! I've phased!" So I try to sit up or roll over but wind-up doing it physically and almost fall out of bed! Regardless of how asleep I might have thought I was, I always seem able to snap back awake instantaneously.

Thoughts/ suggestions?

What works for me is basically concious daydreaming if that makes sense. I get comfy and visualize myself doing very ordinary things around my house that i would routinely do. I put emphasis on the details in the normality of it. I'll visualize myself getting out of my chair and going to make coffee or open the front door to play with the dogs or folding clothes etc. simple, very familiar, and after sometime of doing this usually 10-20 minutes i feel a shift and i usually find myself looking at my coffee pot. It's a very 'real' feel and in that state i am very aware of my body. I haven't worked up enough energy yet to develop a higher or more intense projection conciously. That'd be my suggestion for you if you are a visual person. Hope this helps!

That's because there's a slight difference from going consciously from meditation state(AP attempt) to a full AP than a Lucid dream and OoBE.
The experience can be different but they all have the same purpose is to make you aware of things around you, or in you (emotions, fears, etc.)
The only difference between AP and Lucid dreams is that in AP you will Start your awareness as soon as you go asleep by forcing your body to sleep but by keeping your focus at all time. While doing Lucid Dream, you will take consciousness that you are dreaming and that you are there spiritually. Usually in the middle of a dream. And you experience the dream from your point of view where you have the control.
Both of these experience are an Astral Projection, altho the first one is directly in the beginning of your dream. (Out of Body Experience is also an Astral Projection but people usually see this one as if you were walking in the Physical World).

They are all experiences in the Astral and they can all teach you the same things depending on your focus and awareness/consciousness.
I've been pondering about something for a while now and I think I've found a little hint of what really distinguish them.
-When you AP (lay down, start meditation and attempt to AP) you start your experience as if you were the first one to arrive in the "dream".
-When you Lucid Dream, You take consciousness in the middle of your dream (or a few minutes/hours after it has started).
-And when you OBeE you start at the beginning of your dream except that it's an extra sensorial one where you see everything that is in your house. (basically your subconscious shows you exactly where the things were left at and your subconscious also guess stuff up by itself).

It's not really about a separation but more about forgetting your body and entering your subconscious. You enter your spirit and the spirit makes you live experiences. Maybe even out of your body experiences, but trying to separate your spirit from your body is something really hard to do when you can just forget about your body and seek advices directly to your spirit. Introspection would be the word to describe it, but within your own spirit. The spirit has a connection with the source(god) and the celestial/astral and gives you information based on vibration and energy received from there.
The partial becomes complete; the crooked, straight; the empty,
full; the worn out, new. He whose (desires) are few gets them; he
whose (desires) are many goes astray.

The separation isn't really a separation. Your moving your conscious mind around in the spiritual ambient which we all live. The ambient contains all things including phyiscal. So your moving within and without. Depending on your wiring changing your focus will shift your consciousness to where the focus is...if the focus is unwavering and strong.  Seeing physical in that state however is difficult. It requires a spirit to use a medium. Even angels cannot directly view whats here unless it's revealed.

I'm glad your feeling better but depression will stall you . Don't neglect your spiritual progress.
