Today I had a dream of my deceased father, and I was very emotional. We hugged, I asked him if we would really meet afterwards, and he said 'Of course we will!', then he started talking about time travel. He said he could relive special moments of his life, and he gave me an impression that he could go to the future.

I asked him whether he had gone as far as to know who he was in a previous life, if there is such a thing. It turned out that he did but said 'Initially I cannot tell you', that's when he turned into a woman in a blue uniform. So I started asking those things I really wanted to know, not realizing his form had changed.

I asked what it was like to be where he was, when would I go there, what would I see, but suddenly I became dumb. My voice wasn't coming out, I was sort of paralyzed, then a man came and took him/her away, I looked at his mouth and it seemed like he would give me the answers but he couldn't move his lips.

I felt as though those answers must be kept secret in order for me to go on with my life here. Some force would not allow me to know.

What I want to know now is whether any of you had received important answers during an astral conversation. Even if the words don't make sense but, have you received any answer at all? Things you really wanted to know.

Thats a strange experience, Id agree that maybe your just not meant to know right now.

I havn't really thought to ask people questions like that. I have had conversations in lucid dreams were people have told me crazy things though. Such as once when I had a cloaked guy who spent a good 5 mins of my dream telling me that earth was once a moon of jupiter and somehow, (something to do with saturn), it was dragged away from jupiter and ended up in its current orbit, then ice on the planet melted kick starting life.

I look forward to other peoples responses on the subject though, as i find conversations like these in altered states very interesting.

you know, i had a very similar experience last week.

I dreamt with my grandfather who passed away about 6 months ago. And I started to ask him if he was OK, and things about my life (what he thinks I should do).

And then I asked him if we had been relatives in a past life, and he told me that it'd be better if I didn't know anything about past lifes.
So I started saying 'ohh come on let's go to the past' and i started flying out the window and suddenly the view wasn't the same one as it's supposed to be. So I realized that I had started lucid-dreaming and I asked him if it was him who did that, and he told me 'i'm sorry but i can't tell you anything about past lifes' then he left and i just kept on dreaming.

That left me very confused. Maybe we are not supposed to know all that stuff....

Well I have had tons of lucid dreams and astral projections and anytime I meet someone I generally don't hesitate to ask questions.  And out of all the answers I have received I very few of them have been very specific.  Or some of them don't make any sense.

I had a conversation with my grandpa who had died a few months before.  I asked what is it like after you die.  And he had a big smile saying it was wonderful.  I asked, "What should I do to in this life?" He said "Believe in God", and took off.

Another time I asked for my higher self and a man appeared. Then he asked what I wanted to know.  I wanted general advice and he replied simply, "No".  And gave me a reply about animal scents(?).

I asked a lady in a lucid dream what my past life was and she said in my first past life I was a stuffed animal and she showed me a picture of a teddy bear.  Then I asked what my most recent past life was and she showed me a slide show of this ladies life.  That might make sense, however when it showed the lady in a picture when she was in her 80's, the era that she was in was definitely the 1990's.  Which obviously wouldn't work since I am in my 20's.

Another time I asked for a spirit guide of mine and an owl appeared and said his name was Hercules.  And then he changed into a horse and proceeded to tell me that he saved me from drowning at some time in my life(which I can't recall where that could have been).

I have had a bunch more but I won't ramble on.  I just think that we are sent here to figure out and learn things on our own.  We might have beings that look after us and give us a tiny nudge in the right direction sometimes but for the most part we have to do everything ourselves.  I don't think (at least as far as positive beings are concerned) that they will intervene in our lives except in rare occasions.

It's very nice to hear the experiences of you people. I was amused to hear that one about being a teddy bear in a past live lol, I bet I would even consider it being true had they told me that while I was in the dream. Why do we stop believing when we wake up? eheh

Here are some other interesting things I heard in my astral experiences:

* Inspiration sets you free. (song)

* You've gotta keep the Earth on habit (song)

* Lightnings are like letters and words, and this is how the Earth communicates with the other planets. (class)

* I am the voices of the demon inside of you. I dwell in you for more than a thousand years. (tiger)

Yes i've had a few 'chats' like that with people who've passed.

My mother-in-law had an interesting one though, she dreamt of her son who'd passed several years earlier in the army. He was wandering around outside in the garden and when mum went out to ask him why he didn't come in, he said "You're forgetting about me mum, you don't think of me much any more", mum became very upset and assured him he was never out of her thoughts. Later that day I went to their house with some flowers for Karl and asked what time the family was going to the cemetry, mum looked at me a bit quizzically and asked why? I reminded her it was Karl's birthday and she burst into tears, she'd forgotten! Mum told me about the dream and she said the thing that really struck her was that Karl looked the age he would be now, 51, he was 28 when he was killed.

Thank you for your account Gem. It's different from most stories since people usually say the deceased appear to be younger and happier in the other dimension. I believe the way we see them pretty much depends on how we feel towards them.

In this dream I had my father was bald, though he wasn't when he died.
