I am getting better at entering the trance state, where I no longer feel the parameters of the physical body. Soon after I get a slight falling sensation where I feel I fall about 3 inches into the bed. At that point, my mind becomes more awake/conscious, and I become aware of my physical body once again, and I feel the projection process has been truncated. My question is, what can I do to get past becoming so alert when the falling feeling comes on?

Any insight anyone has is greatly appreciated.

Hey slipknot0129,

I didn't think I was alone on this issue. I'm looking forward to some guidance from some experienced projectors...

A possibility of what is happening is that the sinking into the bed is when you enter trance. And it being a different experience and feeling, your mind desperately grasps to "feel" your physical body, bringing your awareness to it.

For me, phasing has been a great method to get around this. You put all your awareness into a rundown that keeps your awareness focused away from your body.

But whether phasing or using an exit technique, I think a major key is focusing your awareness away from your physical body. And if this is a problem, then doing daily concentration exercises will help too. IMO, many OBE hopefuls don't succeed because they don't take the worthwhile time to practice meditative concentration.

Looks like you are on initial stage.
It will be momentary at first and with practice, the trance condition prolongs. Keep on holding it.

One thing you can do is, slow down....as soon as you start getting falling sensations, stop...look at it and slowly proceed, going backward and forward many times.
