Ap Friends,

I know that there's been discussion on this specific topic but wanted
to re-address this.

For many years now that I've been projecting I always feel, take notice of the sensations that arise when I'm returning back to my physical body. I feel the emptiness of the physical filling it with my astral. Also, the alignment of the body coming back into the physical. The feelings and sensations just upon awakening is a tingly feeling, maybe light in vibrations.

I start to question this and wonder if its the physical body coming out of the cataleptic state and bringing movement back to the physical limbs and body.

The one thing that puzzles me is when I'm vibrating, I can sense and feel my astral body spinning around in circles at incredible rate of speed. This is just not an imagination, or visualization - its definitely a tangible feeling.

I know from the past there's been a few times I would have abruptly waken out of the astral to the physical state because of some noise. So that is to be questioned too.

A few days ago I was able to finally break my dry spell and project. In doing so, I had a eye pillow over my eyes to block light. I can remember at times that I had a tough time seeing in the astral. My reason is to believe that when we do project our physical eyes open at times in conjunction with the astral as well.

Your ideas and opinions are welcomed.

Do you not feel the usual vibes upon your return? When I come back often it is just as it was before I left, strong vibe. It's not always like that, but enough of the time for me to have noted it as not unusual.

I feel a spin often, moreover I have felt a definite 'bouyancy'. Often vibes kick in when I'm laying face down. I then flip over and have the slightly disorientating effect of facing upwards while also being aware of facing down at the same time. The pull to flip over is strong and automatic, just like when you hold a bottle with air in it under water and it wants to come to the surface. The spin can be slow, cannot it not, and somewhat hard to tell what exactly is doing the spinning and where, often a sense of spin not easily located - that's my conclusion? I'd agree that these are tangible feelings that we are witnessing fully consciously. There seems no control over them for me, I can't stop the flip or the spin, can't alter them in any way. I enjoy the fact that we are able to analyse these effects while they are happening in a clear way, perhaps without being able to exactly say what is happenning.

I have believed I have opened my eyes and spoken to people in the room, only for them to tell me I was asleep and quiet the whole time. Unless you video yourself I don't know how you can be sure one way or the other that you open your eyes. In my upsidedown projections they don't seem to have hampered my vision, although I hesitate to make a distinction between vision in the accepted sense of the word and awareness, which is a kind of knowing, spacial awareness, without technicolour pictures as such.

Always more puzzles than answers, congrats on your breaking the dry spell, I'm still waiting!

stephen~,

I have been able to video record my physical body during the oobe *three times*. In each session you can see my eyes during rem, faint gestures of physical facial expressions along with the common swipe of the hand. This was not no where near a easy task, but over a 19year period to capture. If your interested you can check out my web site at www.invisiblelight.us all the data is on-line - journals, stats, faqs, video, interviews.

Normally, when I return I feel light tingles and my astral shift into the physical with the re-aligning. This is why I questioned the cataleptic state and the awakening of the physical limbs. I am thinking during the obe the physical body has to be put into that condition state in order for the astral to take over. I do know that the physical will react to astral movement as I've experienced and show in the videos.

All I can say, is great timing for this topic.  As I lay this morning, after waking to the usual vibration I made a mental note to ask about this exact topic!

With that being said, I think at this juncture, we'll all be more or less comparing notes.

Here are a few notes to ponder:  I wake with the vibrations without even being aware of having been OUT.  Pretty much every day, I wake up the same, my whole being is tingling mildly and every so often I feel a strong pulsation sensation.  I want to be able to project from there but my alarm (snooze) will go off and I'll have to move my physical body.  The tingling sensations last up to 2 full minutes at times?  Yet I am aware of being ?? re-aligned?  Why does this happen when I am not aware of being out?

David Warner

i think the answer is because you drink too much 'Starbucks' coffee..:) j/k

good question! the whole key is to recognize that your body is asleep or in the cataleptic state to exit. there are many times that I drift off to sleep and I try to watch myself. after so many minutes pass I don't realize that I was drifting or in the trance state and I can feel the vibes (very light) while I coming back to consciousness.

my suggestion is play around with he alarm clock and set it to go off at different times. this will screw up your sleep schedule but can produce excellent obe's and false awakenings.

CFTraveler,

thank you! believe me it was a relief just to have one full awakening experience in the month.

what i think will be fun for this next year is the stats and comparing the two years. just hope the experiences are fruitful and many beautiful educational too.

This is an area where I need to make some serious effort with.  When I wake up and as you stated, my body is still asleep, I will lose what vibrations I had after a few minutes.  Even if I attempt to project. It's as if my eyes open, then my mind wakes up and then my mind starts to think   and focus on my vibrations, then they fade.

I have yet to experience returning to the body. I just seem to go from whatever it is I'm doing in the astral to opening my eyes in the physical.

That's my point exactly, I usually just wake up.  When I get these vibrations I don't even recall being out.  I just wake up with them, a LOT.
My question is: Are they residual from being out? or a precursor to?

jalef

i cant remember ever felling vibrations upon return. i feel bilocation and my awareness slowly shift from astral to physical body.

fliesatnite,

I think you are slightly between the two bodies re-aligning back in with the subtle feeling of the vibrations. Remember everyone is different and they have their own techniques, methods, emotions, feelings when they project. I could preach to the choir about my method and it wouldn't do justice.

My point is that the only time I feel this is when I am returning back to my body from the experiences with the shift of consciousness and alignment.

I guess that's what I assumed it to be, and I suppose we don't always remember being out of body.  It's just that when I am 'aware' of being out, I don't wake up with the vibrations and when I'm not aware of it, I wake up with them.  Weird, I know, but curious just the same.

So far it would seem that the people who have posted an answer to your question are all over the place as well.  Some wake up right away, some feel vibrations, some no vibrations at all.  Some upon return and some upon exit.

Interesting.

fliesatnite,

Yeah, its a difficult question to answer. Again, my guess is energy work, and recognizing when you are sleeping. Maybe if you try to go back to bed after your feel the vibes, you might be successfully in projecting right away? Have you tried that?

Time doesn't permit me to go back to bed during the week... 3 kids in school and I work. I might try it the next time it happens on a weekend, In fact, I'll make it a point to do so.

I was thinking this morning that I am going to set my alarm for an hour before I need to be up and then set a different one for when I need to get up during the week to see if I can't induce them then.

I do find that reading about OBE's and Astral Travel keep it in the forefront of my mind so that helps too.

Did you read that on line book from the link I sent you?

David Warner

Fliesatnite,

That's the one thing that I'm a little nervous about having the family and my projections diminishing, but I think by then (year from now) I should be fluent enough to project at will. I mean, 100 experiences in one year isn't bad, but I want the gold ring and very driven to succeed.

My hope is that I'll be able to project more at night and especially with interruption's with a baby. Aka: alarm clock method but with a human..:)

I am sure that I'll be fine and it will bring a new level of love, caring, responsibility and commitment. Just can't wait to have the day when I can say to my child "can you get me a beer from the fridge"..:) j/k

Yeah, definitely set the alarm clock a few hours before. Maybe the last hour you might not feel as rested if you do this 60mins prior. Something to play around with.

What are the ages of your children?

Yes, thinking about astral projection, reading, keeping active is the best method for projecting. I was able to project this morning from a dream (very rare for me). I was in trouble where I snuck into a art museum with a few friends. The alarms went off and I exited the building and was in road where I saw police coming after me. I thought to myself, I am just going to jump into the air and take flight. To my surprise it happened and quickly I became conscious. Found myself picking up this black woman and flying into the night. We landed around the corner where my mom/dad live. We did have a romantic encounter but the experience ended there. So this makes it two experiences this week and the first for this month.

I have not read the book, I am planning on recording the book using acrobat MS Sam to a mp3 and listening to it on my drive home/work.
I'm definitely looking forward to listening to it. I did download a few of her mp3s of music. I wish one of them would be longer then just 5mins.

nice of you to comment on that..:(  go figure, last week when I projected there were two attractive women walking a dog. i didn't take advantage or start a romantic event. was I ever so happy but this event this morning too the cake...:(

i think the important part is recognizing these traps to make yourself a better person and a better projectionist. i would have probably made it to the highest astral plane by now if it wasn't for desire...

Tvos,

QuoteJust can't wait to have the day when I can say to my child "can you get me a beer from the fridge"..:) j/k

Who's kidding? I do that now!

My children's ages are: 16, 12, and 8. Between homework and sports and work, cooking, cleaning, trying to spend time with my hubby.. doesn't leave a lot of down time for OBE's.  Mainly I rely on LD's to induce my OBE's.  Thankfully, I'm getting much better at recognizing my 'sign post' and exiting.  I love the whoosh feeling when I exit.

I am considering getting a mini mp3 player with the tiny speakers for when I go to sleep.. that might help to induce them.  I did find there is a certain vibrational sound that is very hypnotic for me. When I hear this particular sound it takes minutes for me to get into that weird suspended state. I found this out by accident

Quotei think the important part is recognizing these traps to make yourself a better person and a better projectionist. i would have probably made it to the highest astral plane by now if it wasn't for desire...

This aspect of getting to a higher projection plane is certainly a major factor.  Once you have overcome your desire, or at least recognizing it for what it is, you are 'supposed' to used that pent up energy for projection.  However, that doesn't catapult you to the highest level.  You have to graduate one level at a time.  The sexual level that you appear to get 'trapped' in is on the 2nd level.

I have and it works-CF.

That's a fact.  You will master the false awakening.   :am: Also, when my son was born we were psychically connected in the weirdest way.  I don't know it it'll be like that with an adopted child, but it may.  It was like our brains were the same.  He reacted to my every thought. Very hard to describe.

David Warner

Fliesatnite,

I think the best time for projections is at night or in the morning hours. So if anything, that is when you exercise the experience. I don't know how the pro's like Bruce, Peterson, Varnes handled a work life and reaching that level to where they are now? Either they had a lot of money or lived in a minimal environment.

I hated the vibrations for the longest time but I've gotten use to them. Now, its actually cool and feels good vs. being struck down by lighting.

I own a laptop and pocket pc which I've tried using to listen to music while falling asleep. It puts me right out and thats it - I'm history. If its for meditation while sitting up, relaxing in a chair I am okay.

Desire is a tough one to over-come. I might not be able to over-come it but ignore it while the signs are there. In the example of the two girls walking their dog down the street. To me what was a victory, but todays experience I fell a part......:(

Only a few years ago I considered vibrations Very important. I tried to induce Vibrations nearly every night and looked at them as some sort of indicator of my progress at deliberately inducing projection.
Then I went for two or three years projecting mostly from dreams or spontaneously from dreamless sleep where the vibrations were only a minor, insignificant part of the process.
So now I question how important vibrations are --- for me, at least.
Also I had several experiences in 2003 and 2004 where I had Very Strong, Negative vibrations, experiences that were disconcerting.
So how important Are vibrations  I am presently quite unsure.

upstream

Vibrations are always in the background during lucid dreams, OBE. Their intensity just shows the depth of sleep. Deeper sleep causes stronger vibrations because in essence, falling asleep means having more and more synchronous activity in the cortex (theta and delta).

Increasing synchrony means that "brain waves" become stronger and slower, even in the somatosensory cortex "where" we feel our body. Retaining consciousness in sleep just let us aware of this synchrony as vibrations.

Sleep is all about this increasing synchrony or "going into theta then delta." Although its a global trend it happens not evenly. Sometimes different focuses develop in the cortex as spots of localized synchrony.

Nightmares are usually coincide with epileptic focus in the prefrontal cortex. Epileptic focuses that are specific to OBE, however, seem to develop in the temporal lobe. This where the auditory cortex is and hence the noise surges which later relive the hard core vibrations.

Cosmic_Ambitions

With regards to feeling these vibration/tingling sensations after going OB... I do, in fact, feel all of these as well. I was wondering if anybody here has "visual" effects after going OB. (i.e. I see "fuzzily" after my "near" OBE.) It's like I've got these little specs/spots/dots of fuzzy light that fill my immediate vision. Does anyone else have this happen, upon waking from deep meditation/chakra stimulation/OBE?

Same here. I suspect.
