The significance and meaning of the vibrations

My question is, what do you guys think the vibrations represent as a signpost to your moment of 'separation' or phasing? I ask this because quite a few times I've managed to get the vibrations, in fact they're relatively easy to induce for me, I can get it right now as write by doing some full body circuit energy work but I never manage to exit regardless. So should/can it be an immediate sign of 'separation' or is it just another milestone? What kinds of vibrations do we talk about also, full body vibrations, partial vibrations, strong electric ones, some mild waving or really all of the above? I do know that all this varies but I'd still like to gain your perspective. Thanks.

They're a signpost that reads, "Keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing it right".

At that point you simply need to keep digging your consciousness deeper and deeper away from all things physical.  :)

Ok so it means a shift is certainly happening as a result of our process but we might actually be at different levels of phasing? That's really nice, I get the impression some people seem to believe that when the vibrations are strong you're certainly at the brink of separation so in mixing a little bit of different schools of thought when that happens I tend to sort of stop my phasing process and try to finish with a techique like the rope, rolling, floating whatever.

That being the case I'll stick fully to the phasing approach even through the vibes and see where that takes me.  :-)

I think the vibes as in running consciousness through our energy circuits are just a manifestation induced by the practice of running energy through our energy circuits. Much like if we have long hair and run that we experience the movement of wind through our hair even if the day is still. Why does our hair move in the wind? we could go into all the physics that might explain most of it but many of us just accept that this is what happens. It's just the nature of reality. This is much like the running of consciousness through our energy circuits. We could look to understand it in any amount of ways or we could just accept that that's just the way it is. I combine both methods as I want to understand but attempting to understanding everything such as this would be very difficult if not impossible with our current understanding. Not that i don't want to understand it's a matter of time, will, need, use and energy. I'm not sure why it feels like this it could be chi energy etc but whatever the cause, it is a normal experience that when consciousness is directed through these systems that vibrations on/within the body are perceived due to the links between our physical body, our less physical energy systems and consciousness itself.

The vibrations on exiting are somewhat similar but can also be experienced quite differently. There is no general experience, it can differ from individual to individual and from day to day within a certain individual, much how like the quality of experience you perceive when directing consciousness the energy systems can change.

Waking up or attempting projection and maintaining enough awareness to be granted with vibrations can be a beautiful experience in itself.

In regard to astral projection as Xanth stated they are certainly a signpost to identify that you are indeed close and progressing in the right direction.

This includes the physical nature and your opinion of the vibrations. Be aware of them, experience them and allow yourself to go deeper and away. You can play with them if you will, it's our choice what to explore. But if you desire to move to the NPR then

is as good and simple an explanation as there is.

Alright NM, thanks for your input. If I understood correctly you said that the fact that I try to finish my induction with some technique more 'physically' oriented says a little bit about my subconscious beliefs? It could well be. You know, having studied these things for quite a while you tend to expect certain things to be behind you but sometimes at a core level they're really not and throughly thinking about it, the idea that I'm gonna leave my physical body with a subtle energy body through some difficult mechanisms may still hold me back more than I realize. I sometimes can go into deep meditation quite well but only 2 or 3 times in the past I managed to exit directly and not by direct techniques btw, in fact if I think about it hard enough not by any technique at all, mostly quiet intent. Food for thought.  :-)

QuoteSomeone posted a PDF on the Astral Pulse tonight showing 66 different Astral Projection techniques.

The thing is that they're not 66 different techniques. They're the same technique with 66 slight variations. Well, that is, the ones that you do while consciously awake. There are ones listed where you initiate them from a lucid awareness experience in the non-physical.

It's a great write-up and all, but I think it's more important for people to understand *WHY* each of those techniques work.

I'd encourage people to take a bunch of techniques they read about (here or wherever) and try to break them down into their base parts. Try to figure out makes the technique tick. Here's a hint... they're all asking you to do the *EXACT SAME THING* just in slightly different ways.

Ok that wasn't so much of a hint as telling you. LoL

Just about every technique incorporates Visualization or Mental Concentration/Focus in some way as a method of fixating your awareness away from the Physical. That's it... that's the entire secret. That's what took me over 10 years to figure. I use this concept to create my own visualizations and you can use this knowledge to further help yourself to project.

There's nothing mystical or magical about any of this and most importantly: ANYONE CAN DO IT.

Exit techniques usually revolve around giving you a sense of movement.  That's part of the key to having a classic separation OBE.
Apart from that, ALL techniques work because they put your sensory input somewhere other than your physical body.  That's the key.  Learn to do that, and you can project almost whenever you want.

Which means that focusing on these techniques is actually useful if not essential in classic obe but only if you can engage them without bringing physical awareness along, got it! I think I'll try to focus more passively in the phase for a while as I'm not sure I can quite focus on motion without actually physically tensing up a bit and bringing sort of an analytical process with that. With that in mind lets see how awareness techniques like SILD work for me. I'm pretty excited about this particular one.
