Okay, I never really posted something about me on this forum, but here it goes. I'm a 17 years old male from Portugal, been studying Astral Projection and Out-Of-Body experience for 2 years.. Now the funny thing, I never got to astral project in all this time, or I think I did not.. But anyways, here I am, to request the help and the guidance of you all, to help me solve all my questions and problems..

So everytime I go to bed, that I don't feel mentally exhausted I try to project, and believe me, I've tried more than 100 times... Here is how it goes: I started by laying in my bed with nothing above me so I don't feel blanket pressure on my body, after that I start deep breathing and I try finding a suitable comfortable position so no pressure nor pain hits me while relaxed, when I can finally set myself I go trough a quick body "massaging and relaxation" exercise which I developed to suit myself.. When I feel all my body is ready, I focus on my mind, I start by asking for a higher being to help me project and to pull me out of my body so I can experience the wonderful astral world, after I go trough affirmations, where I constantly repeat them in my mind for several minutes.. I can induce a ligth trance ( maybe full? ) pretty quickly, so when all my mind is empty I can clearly notice myself entering "Focus 10".. I don't have the so called "vibrations" as strongly as I did before, now it's just a little ticklish feeling, nothing more.. Sometimes all my mind gets very heavy and dizzy, and I seem to be spinning inside it.. Anyways I know I am now in the state where I can project, now what hapens is I start by doing some energy bouncing exercises, followed by any technique that comes to mind, usually rope, quick movement or the lifting sensation.. Next thing I know I feel soft, relaxed and I don't know what to do.. No idea if I am out of body yet, or I am just in a full trance still in my body. I've tried everything to confirm it was a OBE and not just some another failed attempt.. I tried moving like if I was in the physical and I actually managed to do it, I felt my body heavy, and my legs were a bit messed up, with a weird feeling, I went around trying to know if it was an obe, I tried several things, but all just looked like if i was in the physical, then I sat on the room watching TV and when I finally saw it wasn't and obe I went to sleep.. Tryed to do the "clarity now" command and others, I basicaly tried everything.. Any advices?

Oh, here goes some questions that I don't pretty much see answered neither here nor in any book I've read so far..

1- Explain the feeling from the 1st second you leave your body till you open your eyes and know it is an obe..
2- My eyes ruin some of my attempts, I usually feel little hitches, my eyes moving, or them opening slowly and I can see part of my room.. Any advice in how to avoid this? I tried with a cover in front of my eyes, but then I had no idea if it would ruin my astral vision.
3- I usually have dogs barking far away from when I try astral projecting, is it normal for me to still hear them while in a trance? Or a trance state implies you hearing nothing in the background? I usually hear them all the time, even while in focus 10, but I have no idea if thats how it is supposed to be, also when I think I am projecting I still hear them... normal??

The impression that I get reading your post is that your expecting very certain things to happen, and from my experience, expectations can stop progress. Keeping an open mind to the process and allowing things to unfold as they do for you is important. The feelings and experience another person has may not be like yours at all.

If your getting eye twitches and worrying about dogs barking, I assume you're not in deep enough trance to proceed. I would work more on relaxing. When your body is completely relaxed and you enter trance your eyes won't be opening or flickering around. Maybe you'll hear the dogs, but you won't pay much attention to it. You're awareness will be much more "inner" and focused on an exercise or breathing or whatever you're choosing to do.

Something I've done quite often is have a meditation session where my only intention is to get super-deeply relaxed without falling asleep, no intention of projection. Why? Because the more often I do this with relaxation as the intent, the easier it is to relax and stay relaxed (yet aware) for deep trance when I do intend on an OBE. Repetition of relaxation and trance build up those skills over time, making the chances greater for more successful OBE's.

Heard the click sound... felt very ligth... my mind was extremly clear.. I got up out of my bed as I would normaly... Feeling my legs heavy, but the rest of the body ligth.. Now the funny part. xD I went around the house trying to go trough walls, hitting doors, jumping.. I turned my ligth on and watched myself on the mirror... Got so sad seeing it was no AP xD Went back to bed.  :x

Edit: Oh, most noise around me ceased after the click also xD

My advice to you is: next time you think your projecting.. try to hover over your bed first - if you do not succeed, do not try walking through walls.

Personally, I'm not all that experienced at projecting yet. So for safety resons, i always try to validate that I'm OBEing before i try anything stupid that can cause physical damage.

Lol, thats quite funny, never saw anyone mistaking waking state as obe in my life :D

Btw, your all symptoms points to very shallow state of trance. If you can see the room, hear the noises etc, you are not deep at all and should not attempt to project from there.
