Heya Paul,

I´m sure for most people its far less fear inducing trying to OBE on dayhours than late night, simply cause of the darkness - what we can not see we more than often fear, simple as that.
I to have problems doing this on day hours cause of the surroundings, I´m sure one can learn to block out the external distraction after a while, but certainly the attempts for the first succesful OBE should be done without any outer distractions, it is hard enough as it is for most of us...  and I don´t know about you, but I have tried to do it in the middle of the day, when on a rare occasion I found peace and quiet..  but for me it just didn´t work at all, I need to do it at night to be able to get in the right "mood" - can´t do it in the mornings either as many recommend...  but I´m sure that many people who  actually manages to find a peaceful quiet place in the middle of the day will find that is the ideal time to practise projection - just not for moi...

As for skydiving, been there -done that...  only once though, but if my economy was brighter and I was living closer to a skydiving club I would probably get me a skydiving certificate (sp?) and do it OFTEN!!   It really was that neat actually...  haven´t had any "clear" OBE yet so I can´t draw any "similarities" really.
I didn´t blank out or anything, but I can relate to the "surreal experience" say the first 5 seconds of the free fall, as well as feeling "high" when down on the ground afterwards...  no one could hear what I said cause I was talking so darn quick I remember.. lol....  they interviewed me on tape as I came down, and if I didn´t remma what I said I wouldn´t understand what I said, can´t wait for my first CLEAR OBE - I wonder how quick I will speak after that one ;)
Anyway, if you get a chance to go skydiving - do it!!!

  Be well //Qui-Gon

Hahahaa, yea...  Jedi Master, I wish..  but you know as they say, "a man becomes what he dreams"..... ;)
I was actually skydiving for free, the place I worked at, a place where people came in and placed bets on various things... don´t know what you call it in english??  betting-store? bookmaker place? Anyhow the place were one of swedens best going places in that "field" and was rewarded with 2 skydiving "tickets", and since my employer was such a chicken I was asked, and to be honest with you I didn´t say yes right away..   but no regrets whatsoever...  do you know how much they take for a.. ehh... "duojump" (an experienced diver hooked on your back) in the states??   Would be neat to see if it is way more expensive or the other way around over seas...   that is if you are from the states?, forgot to look..

  Take care //Qui-Gon

I have not had an OBE but I have been skydiving twice.

It was very freeing and relaxing at the same time.  I can recall the entire 2 dives perfectly.  The first one was by far the better of the two.  I remember the day before I was eager and some worried.  All the different things going on in my head.   But at the moment I put on the chute I was calm.  Even just as I was walking around in the hanger.  the plane ride up was relaxing.

The door slid open and there was nothing but blue.  The air was cold up there at 10,500 ft.  even though it was about 90 out that day.  The first step was interesting it felt like we were doing about 75 mph.  I know what that feels like since I ride a motorcycle.  I climbed out holding onto the understrut of the wing and standing there with one foot on the platform.  1...2...3 and then there was nothing.  I went through the little motions they wanted us to do, but other than that there was nothing else.  I mean no thoughts, no emotions, just an odd sort of bliss.  I did not care about anything for that 40 secs.  I was overtaken by the feel of the air wiping around my body and the howling of the wind.  I only wish that it took longer, even though that 40 secs seemed like a life time.  It is hard to explain the feeling of being wrapped up in that kind of nothingness, where the entire world seems to dissapear there is only that moment in time.  Even now a piece of that kind of joy is there and I can feel it as I recall the memory.  that moment changed me for ever.  There are a whole bunch of things that I just don't let bother me any more.  When compair to that experience they are nothing and so why should I worry about them?

Oddly enough even though I know what it feels like to fall at such distance for that amout of time it is not a feeling I can recreate while I am trying to AP.  But the feeling is there effortlessly when I recall it at times like this.

When I am going to stop while I am still warm and fuzzy.

Greetings Folks...I, like many people, have yet to pierce the physical barrier. The place where flying is the norm, anything is possible and benefits are endless in scope.  Obstacles are a-plenty(for me anyways). Fear, distractions, etc...Anyways...This has plagued my atempts more often than not. It has probably been dicused on these boards before, but here i go...                                                                                                                     Night and Day, two different things, one provokes a sense of fear, the later, less than the other. I would just like to know, would it be less fear inducing to atempt a OOBE during the day...I have not been able to try during the day, simply because my suroundings are to distracting.I'm sure the average personne has this delema too.                                                                                                                   Secondly, I would also care to know if any of you has ever skydived before. I've heard that it is a sureal experience. the descriptions of first hand acounts give many similiar traits to OOBE. ex: many people blank out the first few seconds they jump out of the air craft and will falling they say its almost unreal...and when on the grownd, they often feel druged (Happy, high). some even have a hard time remembering the dive from the sky...Anyways if nothing else...its food for thoughts...thx for reading                  Paul.
