Hello this is my very first post, I had recocnize I was dreaming and then made the dream lucid. I was in line waiting in a school cafeteria, and it sort of reapeated itself twice and noted the discrepancies.so the dream became lucid, I said to my self , Im going to jump and fly to induce an astral projection, but I just landed back on the floor, as in real life. I tried many times, but failed , I was progressing foward in line and the dream sterted fading and quickly tried the spinning technique and the scenery returned, even though the students around me started holding me  saying stop being childesh and stupid, I answered with it is just a dream. the cafeteria employee served me the food on thetray without a plate then I told to please serve my food on a plate not  on the tray and she just scraped it into a plate, and placed it on the tray, the dream later end. why couldnt I fly?

Hello, ishtar, and welcome.

Some people learn to fly first and then struggle to walk; others are the other way around. It will come with practice.

Did you ever see the Matrix? You have to believe.

I've run into this problem several times. A lucid, or mostly lucid dream where your proof would be to fly and it fails. or you try to walk through a wall and can't. The best thing that I have found here is to state out loud (yell it really) that "I am dreaming" or "I can fly" it turns out that stating it out loud tends to validate it in your mind because its not something that you would do in real life I imagine. I've also found that a running start helps in those circumstances or just run real fast with the intent to fly and I've taken off the ground like a plane. Once you're in the air you are fine. Also I believe it was steven laberge that turned me on to the timeless dream command "enhance clarity now" for partially lucid dreams. Works like a champ for me.
